The body of Clemente Gonsalez Macedo was found in a burnt-up car in front of his cousin’s house in Afton on Aug. 18, 2001.

The 39-year-old had to be identified using DNA.

Investigators developed a strong suspect early on in the case but made no arrests. Macedo, his family and the suspect had all immigrated to the U.S. illegally and the family disappeared during the investigation. Investigators aren’t even sure the suspect gave them his real name.
