I really hope LE can gather enough evidence to charge him with Codi being missing. It's great they have these charges but what about Codi ,I'm Canadian no where near there but this whole thing just bothers me how can not one family member speak up for Codi there's adult siblings aunts uncles and not one person for that little man jmoo my very sad opinion

The extended family that has (over time) stepped up in support of Cory have not provided any others.

The families of people reported missing are having an especially difficult holiday season with a loved one missing from the dinner table, but one nonprofit isn't giving up hope.

"As long as they're still out here, we're going to be out here," said Joe Slabinski with Water Team Inc.

Slabinski and his team of volunteers are searching for any sign of Codi Bigsby, the body of Shanita Eure-Lewis and several other open cases. Tuesday they searched Briarfield Park in Hampton.

Codi Bigsby’s father, Cory, called 911 in late January to say his 4-year-old son wasn’t in their apartment. A massive search effort, including federal and state investigations, failed to find Codi.

NewsNation local affiliate WAVY reports Commonwealth’s Attorney Anton Bell said in April that Bigsby is still missing, but “presumed to be deceased.” Cory Bigsby faces 30 charges, and seven of them involve child neglect, according to 13 News Now, but these are not related to Codi’s disappearance. Cory Bigsby has been in jail since Feb. 3, and his next trial date is set for Jan. 27. The attorney formerly representing Cory Bigsby, Jeffrey Ambrose, said police mishandled the case and that his client had nothing to do with his son’s disappearance. Hampton Police Chief Mark Talbot, however, said in March there’s no evidence Bigsby was abducted, and the evidence they had did “not completely match the stories we have received.”

It has been nearly a year since the 4-year-old was reported missing. His dad, Cory Bigsby reported him missing to Hampton Police Jan. 31, 2022.

Originally, he told police he last saw his son at 2 a.m. that day. Then, he reported him missing around 9 a.m. HPD launched a search near Old Buckroe Road.

Many volunteers affectionally call it ‘Camp Codi’ or ‘Codi’s Place.’

“I believe that he is still here, and I am not giving up,” BW said. “We are not giving up. He is a beam of light.”

'This is unbelievable,' Emotions high as community searches for Codi Bigsby​

Emotions were high as the organizations of "Six Women and a Notebook", "United We Stand", and "Building Back Black" came together with locals of the area to leave New Year's gifts at the Codi Fence search around Buckroe Pointe Apartments and other areas nearby.

"No matter where he's at, I'm praying to God that he's alive. But if not, I would like to be able to find Codi so we can give him a proper place to rest because he deserves it," said Nancy Strickland, Founder and President of Six Women & A Notebook.
