GUILTY VA - Codi Bigsby, 4, last seen at dad's home, Hampton, 31 Jan 2022 *dad charged* #2

Disposing of a child like trash, then remain silent forever. It seems like that's the norm in these nightmare cases. Sad isn't it? How do they live with themselves is my question.
It's just disgusting. The stories and lies the inmate and his family told, the way the lawyer was acting, then the Chapman daughters press release offering a reward and crying about corys rights. The only thing I want to know is where's codi . Jmoo the judge can't give him what he really deserves.

Following last year's trial, Hampton Commonwealth's Attorney Anton Bell said Bigsby is facing around 150 years for the child abuse and neglect charges.

“It’s somewhere in that range, 156 years, that he’s facing. And yes, I will be asking for the maximum on that," said Bell, later adding that prosecutors "are not going to spare one ounce of mercy for him."

this is just, he deserves not even a modicum of mercy more than he showed Cody.

Apparently this was pretrial trial set for July 14 ,I'm just waiting for msm link . This is just dragging on but justice is coming and the inmate isn't going anywhere. I'm hoping they got a new picture of the inmate I hope he's still looking haunted and aged jmoo

News 3 did ask him why Bigsby is being tried on the charges if he's already serving what likely amounts to the rest of his life behind bars.

Bell said in Virginia, inmates are eligible for geriatric parole once they turn 60. Having the additional charges against him, if he is convicted, would be something else that would have to be considered when deciding if he gets parole or not.

I questioned why they were pursuing another trial, thinking just more agony for the family. But this makes sense.

Docs: For now, Cory Bigsby not expected to face prosecution for child abuse charges

The Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said it does not plan to proceed, for now, with prosecuting 30 additional charges against Cory Bigsby, who currently is serving a 45-year sentence for the murder of his son, Codi Bigsby, a court filing states.

In a motion to nolle pross the case, the Hampton Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said that its primary witness, who was four and five years old on the dates of offense in the case and is now 8-years-old, “is undergoing intensive counseling and therapy as a result of the Defendant’s actions that led to these charges,” as well as the death of his younger brother, Codi. The primary witness testified against Cory Bigsby when the child was seven.

“Due to his age and the serious nature of these charges, the Commonwealth would like the opportunity for [the child] to continue his counseling and therapy before subjecting him to another jury trial, so as to better … protect his mental and emotional well-being,” the court filing states.

What a crock . I feel for the kids it's the right move but am so angry he's getting away with it. It's just not right

Court tomorrow , I've heard they want a few charges dropped to all charges dropped I guess we find out tomorrow. I wish they'd only drop the charges if he said where to find Codi's remains. That man deserves nothing jmvho
