A little more information indicating found off Rte 29:

Will have to go look at what recent missing persons cases - I know Robbie Hurt's family has kept his case in the news, but I don't know how close he went missing compared to this location. I also see a missing woman from Sept of this year (Melissa Doss, 39).

Hoping this can bring some family out there closure.

Alexis Murphy was a 17-year-old female from Nelson County, Virginia who went missing on August 3, 2013. She was last seen at a gas station in Lovingston, Virginia.

That's about 100 miles from Danville, VA. Not sure if the link is to the latest discussion here on WS or not.

Also, Katelin Akens disappeared December 5, 2015 from Springfield, VA--not sure that this is all that close to where she disappeared, but I am always hopeful that she might one day be found (and the person responsible for her death FINALLY brought to justice). ETA: Springfield is very far away from where these remains were found--236 miles or so--so it doesn't seem likely that this would be her.

Human remains found in Danville identified as missing Pittsylvania County man

Skeletal human remains that were found in Danville have been identified as a man missing out of Pittsylvania County, according to the Danville Police Department.

Robert Hurt’s family reported him missing in December 2018 when his truck was found empty on Goodyear Blvd. after a large snowstorm that year, according to police.

Police said they told his family on Thursday night that the skeletal remains were identified as Hurt.
