This poor child was severly abused by the dad(killer) he had burns broken bones and he was actually shaken to death they said he was abused for some time befor he died. the dad said the burns were an accident and he had looked up how to treat a burn in a book which said to wrap then and further medical treatment was not needed this story just makes me mad. I when he was first reported missing it was all over the tv because it's local and every one was looking for poor Davion and the dad was on tv also I kept a sharp eye out for the child but I remember talking to my mom who was living in hampton when this happened ( I grew up there) and telling her I though he had killed the child, she just could not think how any one could do such a thing and then report the child missing, she was upset when he led them to the body she couldn't understand why. I still don't understand why I don't think I should understand why if I ever did I think I would worry about my self if you go to http://www.wvec.com/ you will find more info on the abuse you may have to sign up for their website and I can tell you it was a sad short life for this child.

From March 2007:

http://articles.dailypress.com/2007-03-06/news/0703060050_1_lerner-sentencing-neglect

Turner was never implicated in Davion's death, but she was convicted in April of felony child abuse and felony child neglect for beating Davion with a switch in July 2005 and for neglecting to treat the severe burns the boy received when Shanklin scalded him with a hot liquid...

Based on her record that included just two traffic citations, the state's sentencing guidelines recommended that Turner receive a sentence ranging from one day to six months behind bars. But Lerner imposed the maximum punishment -- 10 years on each count with the time running back-to-back.

"Ms. Turner, the guidelines do not begin to touch the severity of what you have done," the judge said, calling her actions toward Davion callous, malicious and uncaring. "Not only did you not... do anything to care for his injuries, but you left him in the hands of this monster."
