Found Deceased Va - Denise Martin, 22, Virginia Beach, 19 June 2018

I'm wondering if all the tips they were receiving threw them off and they were looking in the wrong places. Maybe the sightings were never her.
Yes, if this is her she was probably there all along.

The blessing is that it appears "authorities" found her. That's much better than if it had been her friends. I don't think any of them were prepared for this.

Wouldn't near her home be the first area they searched?
especially there by that school?

I'm only guessing about COD right now, but my theory is, IF her friends searched there, nobody thought to LOOK UP. And even if they had, the trees are very leafy right now and could have obscured view of her. :(

^She was carrying a bag of sorts....I don't want to think what may have been in it.....

Here is an image from the link below. It seems so beautiful and residential. Hardly what I would call a wooded area, but, I suppose, there are trees anyway.

Oh. Oh, my. I hadn't thought of that.

Wow.

You'd think that someone among neighbors would have alerted authorities to an odor some days ago, if fairly close to homes.
Unless, the body was purposely buried by a perp?
This is so awful.....

At this point if this is Denise it could go either way. Strange place to find her if she took her own life.

I hadn't seen this before:

"Police said the body was behind a home."
so not at the school...

No, not at the school. But it's just this somewhat "narrowly wooded" area--I think the trees are all in peoples backyards, separating them from the Catholic school. (I know I'm not explaining that very well).

I marked the 7-Eleven on the corner, too. I'm not positive if her friends actually searched the area, or simply checked the 7-Eleven for video.

But not so strange if a violet rapist who lived nearby ...

It nearly seems as if the body was found in someone's own backyard.
I wonder if there's a fence between those trees (if they are in backyards) and the school property.

I zoomed in to whatever my old relic calls maximum zoom, and it does appear that there are "areas" fenced in most backyards and at the school, too. The school seems to have a fenced in playground area, for example. Resident's backyards appear to be fenced by their pools, etc.

But basically, I don't think it would be hard to get to among the trees. Although the overhang from the big, leafy trees could be hiding it.

Chenue Her 13News Now on Twitter

The man who’s yard police were searching let us back there. He said police found the body right behind his fence near the creek back there. The stench is very strong back there. Apparently, he said police told him that is the smell of a decomposed body. #13NewsNow

Oh no.

Oh crap. I feel like I get to know these people, at least a view of them through the eyes of those who love them... And it's always too late.

This time of year if it's really hot people aren't out in their backyards as much and if they exit through the garage and it's upwind they may not smell anything. We had a huge dead raccoon behind our place for at least a week, based on decomp and I never smelled it.
