The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD), in conjunction with Virginia State Police and the U.S. Marshal Service, is actively searching for two missing persons.

Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio, 48, and her granddaughter, Angie Carolina Rodriguez Rubio, 12, were reported missing this morning.

An AMBER Alert has been initiated for the child who is 12-years-old and believed to be in extreme danger. Her grandmother, Elizabeth, has also been entered into a nationwide system as a missing person.

HPD believes the pair were abducted by Hareton Jamie Rodriguez Sariol. Hareton is currently wanted by HPD for two counts of abduction and may be traveling north from Virginia to New York driving a white 2000 Volvo truck with a trailer displaying Virginia registration 21739PZ.

Anyone with information on the immediate whereabouts of these individuals is asked to call 911 immediately.

“The abductor’s vehicle in which they were all believed to be traveling in was involved in a vehicle fire on I-66 in Warren County,” according to the Amber Alert. “The abductor is now believed to be traveling to New York in another vehicle.”

They are now believed to be traveling north in a white 2000 Volvo Tractor Trailer with Virginia tag 21739PZ, according to Virginia State Police.

An Amber Alert for Angie Carolina Rodriguez Rubio, 12, of Harrisonburg, Va., and a Critically Missing Adult Alert for her grandmother Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio, 48, of Harrisonburg, Va., have been activated at the request of the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Suspect found, but 12-year-old girl, grandmother still missing

UPDATE 8:12 p.m., Aug. 7: The suspect in the abduction of a 12-year-old girl and her grandmother has been found and is in custody, but the two victims in the case remain missing, according to the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Police arrested the suspect in PA.

Hareton Jamie Rodriguez Sariol, who is now in custody of Harrisonburg Police. Sariol is being questioned as to the whereabouts of Angie and Elizabeth.

Invstigators have not released any details about the capture of Sariol, who was believed to be traveling to New York. Police believed he driving a white 2000 Volvo truck with a trailer displaying Virginia registration 21739PZ.

Alleged abductor arrested; grandmother, granddaughter remain missing

A vehicle police believe they were traveling in was involved in a fire that shut down northbound Interstate 66 in Warren County early Monday morning. They say Hareton then took both Elizabeth and Angie with him in a tractor trailer owned by AMG Express.

Virginia State Police and the U.S. Marshal Service are assisting Harrisonburg police in the search.

The HPD Major Crimes Unit continues investigating the abduction.

I'm afraid the most likely answer.. murdered and discarded them. But where and why? And how was he driving one vehicle, it was caught on fire, and yet, he was in a tractor trailer? Did he steal the tractor trailer? I sounds like they were with him when the vehicle caught fire...but then.. weren't with him in PA when he was arrested

Last seen Sunday August 5 2800 block of S Main St Harrisonburg, VA

Car fire early Monday morning at mile marker 2 on I-66. They were believed to be with him at this time.

He left in a tractor trailer from there, with them (stolen, if so, how did he manage this)?

Apprehended by Pennsylvania State Police Tuesday afternoon, without them.

So, based on his suspected track to NY, they can be anywhere between Warren County and where he was apprehended. Does anyone know where he was found in PA? He had Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon to do something with them.

I’m hoping for the best, but it’s not looking good.

Police said Angie and Elizabeth were last spotted with Sariol Sunday on South Main Street in Harrisonburg. At 5 p.m. Tuesday evening, police said they took Sariol into custody in Pennsylvania, and also recovered his 2000 Volvo Tractor-Trailer. That car, they said, caught fire Monday at 3 a.m. along Interstate 66.

Investigators said they believe all three had been traveling in that car.

This makes it sound like the Volvo Tractor Trailer caught fire??? I don't know. But 3 am Monday is when the fire happened. I don't know what time he was arrested nor where, and didn't find any updates either.
