Murphy said her daughter was a bit dirty when deputies rescued her, but other than that, she is fine.

She said she now hopes Carl is punished appropriately, but ultimately, she just wants what is best for Emma.

Father extradited to Danville, facing charges in abduction of baby Emma Grace

The man accused of abducting his daughter Emma Grace Kennedy at knife point in June has been extradited to Danville.

Police said he was brought to Danville from Randolph County, North Carolina Friday and is being held at the Danville City Jail.

He is being arraigned Monday morning.

Carl Ray Kennedy pleaded guilty to an interstate violation of a protection order.


The maximum punishment for that crime is a fine of $250,000 and/or imprisonment of five years.
Kennedy is scheduled to be sentenced in the federal case against him Jan. 7, 2020.

His case is being tried in the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Virginia.
