• His full name was Eric Carlton LaForest
• He was last seen by his stepfather around 7 pm.
• His mother notified the police at 9:50 pm.
• He was found deceased in a vacant apartment shortly after 11 pm.
• He had been suffocated, probably by having a hand held over his mouth.
• A shirt was tied around his neck but was not tight enough to have strangled him.
• He had been deceased for about four hours before his body was found.
