GUILTY VA - Genevieve 'Gini' Orange, 29, raped & murdered, Falls Church, 25 Sept 2008

  • #41
It kind of sounds, from the article, like he's just some creep who was always on the make for the female residents.

There are several different degrees of murder he can be charged with, and it will be interesting to see what else they have on him and exactly how they charge him.

I would invite anyone who knows anything about this guy that is FACTUAL, to post without using his full name. I for one, had a bit of difficulty navigating the court records in VA last evening and found very little on him; which in other cases I have worked on, has meant something else- still digging.

ETA: I have been advised that VA law is very closed to public records as opposed to other states.
Now, if he were in Fla, we would have a few binders by now.

I was in Paris in early June, and I took a photo of a painting in a basillica that struck me as etherally beautiful. I snuck it as a matter of fact.

I guess now I know why, note the name at the bottom. I pray for peace and God's strength for her and her friends and family.:blowkiss:

I would like to know if this man has ever lived or worked in Orlando. This case has similarities of Jennifer Kesse's to me. Many theorized her perp worked for the complex or the construction company working on the complex. It would be interesting to find out his past work history.

Depending upon the actual case file for Gini, he may be a candidate for sure, among other cases or areas as well. I agree with you that my hinky meter is up for him not being a first timer. I cant shake the thought that she was was skeeved by him and may have told someone, thus the wellness check call, literally hours later.

I can confirm he has a record, but not what it is at this point. Also checking AKA's.....

 Wouldn't that be something if there is a connection to Jennifer Kesse. You guys are amazing.

The exact type of person that he would go for...dependable, young, intelligent, beautiful, and independent. All those things describe Jenn and why a "wellness check" within two hours of her missing went out, too. It is quite a coincidence, imo.

Blink, that's what I was thinking: that this is not the first time for this guy. I was thinking that he is 43 years old and that's a little late to suddenly start attacking young women. I would think that he would have shown signs of tendencies toward this sort of behavior before this. It also makes me wonder what sort of background check his employer did before hiring him for this job.

The wellness check call does not strike me as especially odd. It makes sense that her employer would try to contact her when she did not show up for work. If she were espcially reliable and dependable, the failure to appear would send up red flags all by itself. I am thinking that her emergency contact number would have been her mother and, when her employer could not reach her, that employer would have called her mother trying to locate her. I strongly suspect that it was her mother who made the wellness check call. Gini may well have mentioned to people that this fellow creeped her out and that would have added to the alarm.

It would be interesting to know if Gini or anyone else had made complaints to management re: him and his forwardness.

Yes, SS, I immediately thought of Jennifer Kesse when I read that this guy had been arrested and that he was an asst. mgr.

What a creep this guy is. It makes me so angry that she took precautions to be aware of her surroundings, that she didn't live a risky lifestyle, like going to bars and coming home late and impaired. What chance did she have against him? He could have been there waiting for her when she got home. He had access to her home. I also agree that this was not his first time doing this.

Have we found anything on him being married, having children, or his personal life at all?

Zilch.
Except for blog data I cannot confirm.

Blink, I can't find anything either, but I keep thinking there is something there. It's usual for people who commit violence against women to start way before they are in their 40s. I cannot help but think this guy has AKAs, fake social security numbers, and the whole nine yards. I also suspect that he has worked as a property manager of some kind before. Not only apartments, but hotels and motels as well. This, too, would give him access to women and their dwellings, temporary or otherwise.

This might be an excellent time for LE to have Nancy and Greta showing pictures of this guy to see if anyone recognizes him from anywhere else.

Good suggestion, but privacy laws are pretty strict on that if we have no evidence to connect him to any other occurance yet. Technically, Fairfax "has their man" so to speak. However, SS and I have some pretty strong resources so we are going to put our lines in the water for a spell :)

Mark Eric Lawlor, 43, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the murder of Genevieve Paulette Orange, 29.

ABC 7 / NewsChannel 8 has learned that Lawlor had been convicted in the past of abduction and unlawful entry. He also was jailed after violating the terms of his probation.

This dude has an alias, Im sure of it, working on it.
BTW- People, in this case a woman living on her own have a RIGHT to know if there is a felon that has access to their home. Unforgivable and my Favorite word for those that know me, PREVENTABLE..

Justice for Gini.

I do hope that you and SS have some good bites on those lines.

It just seems odd to me that some guy would decide at age 43 to become violent with women. They usually start long before that.

I am also thinking that if he has record of violence against women and his employer knew it, that perhaps Gini's family would have a wrongful death suit against the owners/managers of that apartment building.

The management company was extremely negligent IMO. Even if he was using an alias his prints were on file and prints are taken routinely in job applications. Maybe someone flubbed that aspect or they didn't do a background check at all.

Yes, Blink, this was so preventable.

Well, sadly it doesn't surprise me. I wish we had access to those records.

He is not in the SO database in VA or hometown. In the instance this is his real name, which I believe it is.
Deplorable, getting madder by the minute:furious:

This is just beyond inexcusable. This is totally deplorable and I, too, am getting madder by the minute. There is no excuse for this. I do not believe these people hired him and gave him access to all those apartments without a criminal background check or hired him in spite of it. The unlawful entry and abduction are enough to keep him from being hired as a property manager of any kind. Ever. Under any circumstances.

He might never have been convicted of a sexual offense per se. If he was never convicted of a SO, then he would not be in the SO data base.
