-Did Jay really like to eat or drink anything specific that you recall?

No. Keep in mind we spent just some time in a hotel.

-Did Jay mention any family members whatsoever?

Not sure

-Was Jay obsessed with the GD and living his life to go to their concerts?

I think the person we were with was a fan. But it seemed he was using the dead as a means to escape or not be found.
-Do you know if Jay went to any other concerts?

-What did Jay say about the Island that you spoke to him about?

-What level of education would you say Jay had?

High school. He was a kid on dead tour with no money, no car, and no one with him. Didn't get the vibe he was in college or anything like that

-Was Jay's constant interrupting "childlike" in nature?

It wasn't childlike. It was just annoying. Both nights jay was partying with other people and come back to our room and just incessantly talked and interrupted all the time. Everyone in that room remembers the interrupting.

I am trying to focus on searching archive pictures for 1995 for grateful dead concerts. I am focusing on the earlier concerts. I am also wondering about the Phish band and if there are any other bands, cover bands etc. that GD may have attended.

I think that the person in our room, we met, had no intentions of wanting to be home. Wherever home was. I'm not sure of major criminal trouble.

I have no idea. This young man had nothing. We went our ways because he had nothing and it was decided that as we departed to DC we needed someone who could contribute. There were a hundred dead heads at our hotel I'm sure he could have hitched.

Keep in mind this was 20 years ago. And at the time had no reason to try and soak in everything about a dead head on the floor of a hotel room. But if pressed...

I would say this... I have followed this case before. Nothing clicked before. I saw that picture a few days ago and I have no doubt in my mind that young man who was on our floor is the person in the photo. After looking over all of this... I would conclude that Jay and GD have to be the same person. I could be wrong. Time has a funny way of working. But the probability is too great. The names, the circumstances, etc. after speaking with my father in law who looked at the photos I would put it at 95%. You find out who this Jay is and mystery will be solved.

If you look at the composite. Do not focus on the entirety but focus on specific items it's hard to say it's not.

The bulge under the lip etc.

It is common practice by law enforcement to identify bodies in traumatic head injuries by micro features as opposed to macro features

Who would thought that (potentially) finding out who Grateful Doe was would raise more questions than it answered? :scared:

It does make sense, though, that it only took so long because he was a somewhat enigmatic individual to begin with.

Wow.. What a promising lead! I did some really quick overlays of the new photo over the old images and the features seem to basically line up correctly. The eyebrows look very similar in my opinion. I will try to attach them here if anyone wants to take a look.

I'd really like to see the original reconstruction photo photoshopped with the hair in this photo. I just wonder if that would have done it. If I knew how to do it I would just out of curiosity.

Quick question...why not have the investigating agency take a look at the photo and take it from there? I understand there are no guarantees that this "Jay" (my nephew Jason also went by Jay) is GD, but I'm sure they'd appreciate any lead. JMO

I played around with the pictures in Photoshop to see. I worry that it will only lead to confirmation bias, as in order to make this picture you have to literally change parts of one picture to fit another, but I totally understand the curiosity and wanted to see it too.

The slightly crooked nose may be a tiny glitch in the face reconstruction software. I believe Carl, the UID mod, has observed the same slightly off-kilter nose on facial reconstructions for other UIDs.
