yes to my understanding they found more than one dna in her clothing. this was said to be human semen that didnt match anyone in the database of rapist offender or sexual offenders.

It said in a tip MH was seen in a truck or near a truck with group of men at a hotel room.

Link please.

Just K:

Sorry, that makes no sense. The reason that the 2005 Fairfax VA sexual assault and the Morgan Harrington case are linked is via DNA, and as I understand it, it was through the CODIS database that they got the hit that linked the two cases. FBI, Virginia State Police and local law enforcement are all working in Morgan's case. My family has plenty of issues with the FBI (who are responsible for my sister Cathy and Rebecca Dowski's case in the Colonial Parkway Murders) but they do their work.

Read back a few posts. Because of 1. Human Error 2.Back logs 3. Partial Profile 4. Never swabbed...so again...human error

I get that there can be cracks in the system. But if he is a repeat, violent SO, you'd better believe they have his DNA. There's another one out there ... and so far he is a phantom.

Text message may be wrong, sorry if already posted, now wondering if someone else sent text from Hannah's phone..

Includes video..
http://wtvr.com/2014/09/17/police-now-think-hannah-grahams-last-text-listed-incorrect-location/

“We don’t know whether it was auto correct on her phone or she just typed it in wrong, we have no idea,” Capt. Pleasants said.

He said police are now working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to retrieve phone data that might show where that text was sent from.

“A lot of things happen when you send out messages and text, and we’re following that,” Pleasants said. Police said Graham was “fairly well intoxicated” at the time she was last seen.

The timeline of the last hours anyone heard from her is as follows:

11: 50 p.m. Friday, Graham was last seen by friends at Camden Plaza Apartments, in the 200 block of 14th Street NW.
12:45 a.m. Saturday she was seen on surveillance video outside of McGrady’s Pub on Grady Street.
1:20 a.m. Saturday, she sends a text to friends saying she was lost in the area around 14th and Wertland Streets.

Google maps indicates the distances between these places would make for substantial walks, especially for person “fairly well intoxicated,” as police and friends say she was.

Pleasants said the camera outside McGrady’s Irish Pub showed Graham walking “in front of the building for several minutes, apparently it appears, maybe even talking to someone, and then walking away –leaving east bound on Grady at 12:46 a.m..”

That would be the opposite direction of her apartment, police said."

He's not a repeat violent SO though as far as the law is concerned. He was arrested for it once....in 1990. Everything since then was failure to register, drug possession, distribution, assaults, but all petty stuff. No felonies.

I see. Thank you for clarifying that.
Hmmmm.

I'm actually anti - gun .... i can shoot one, but i could never own one lol and I'm not anti-gun ownership ... i just don't like them personally. We actually just passed conceal and carry in IL so it is an option now at least! !!
Well that's good that you at least have the option now. I forget not everyone is from good ol' "Fundamental, Constitutional Right to Own a Gun" State like Louisiana. But if it came down to your own life....think you could get comfortable with it then? :) Just remember, the bad guys aren't using tasers and pepper spray. Don't take a knife to a gun fight. Unless you plan to use that knife to cut off the penis you're being attacked with. Guns, penises and roofie's....that's what you're up against lol

Well, wait. They're saying the text of "I'm lost at 14th and wertland" isn't correct... how would they know?

  • #469
Yeah, that was going to be my question. AFAIK, LE has never even speculated that this could be so.

Im going on the tip where it said she was seen getting a ride and near a hotel with group of men. then its said some of the dna in her clothing didn't match anyone in the data base. I don't know if that same man here..

If the shirt was planted then maybe the dna as well in a way maybe not directly, to throw off the other perp's included. The Black American guy was already in the system of sexual assault. Its a very good game they are playing whom ever it is.

Yeah there's always lots of variables. But without all the facts... Its all we've got. So there may be some stretches, and hunches. But that's solved plenty enough cases when leads ran out and went nowhere. Another factor is whether the DNA in MH's case and the 2005 assault were from CODIS or the VA state police. If state police, its possible its only matched partial profiles. If CODIS, its full profiles because they don't accept partials. A matched partial profile is enough to suggest the cases may be linked though. And even if this SO's DNA is in the system, a partial profile isn't enough to convict. It just points in the right direction until enough evidence can be found

Depending on the settings on her phone, particularly if she has an iPhone, there are reasons the 1:20am text message could have been delayed. iMessage sometimes is wonky. Data settings, wifi mode and other factors could delay messages. And sometimes, they just wander around in the ether for a while.

There are reasons the text could have been right at the time, sent by Hannah and still arrived at 1:20am. That's all I mean.

No one is trying to insult you here. I do think youre overconfidence leads you to take unnecessary risks and also to advocate that others do the same. Stupid? No; Foolish; Yes.

The fact remains that attackers can fight off pepper spray, tasers and fend off a knife, especially when the attacker usually outweighs the victim by a good 50-100 lbs, could be under the influence of drugs or having a psychotic break and has more upper body strength and testosterone.

Im also pretty sure that numerous female victims murdered every year fought like hell with their male attackers but it didnt do them any good.

Thats not seeing women as the weaker sex, its acknowledging a fact and personally I hope youre a little more cautious in the future as Id hate to see a contributor here end up on the missing or deceased list from something that could have been avoided with a little caution and a healthy dose of reality.
I'm not over confident by any means ... simply more prepared than taking a friend, which can also do no good and in a small area ... not always available. I suffer from anxiety ... i am way more paranoid than most lol

Imo ... It's victim blaming, should have - would have - could have does no good.

If Kristy kelley would have taken a friend with her ... there would be two dead women (if she drove off herself) ... but just in case she should have? That's what i call foolish ... there is no black and white in life. Sometimes things happen and walking in pairs is silly and advocates some form of safety when it's not. How many cases do you hear about adult girls not being kidnapped because they were in pairs. That is a false sense of security.

The "walking in pairs" is just not good advice for everyday life.

"OTHER CASES OF MISSING YOUNG WOMEN:

At least three other young women have disappeared in the area in the last five years.

October 2009: Morgan Harrington, 20, disappeared after stepping outside John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, where she had been attending a Metallica concert. The Virginia Tech student’s remains were found about three months later near U.S. 29 in a remote field of a 700-acre farm in southern Albemarle County.

In July 2010, state police announced that evidence in Harrington’s case was linked forensically to the September 2005 abduction and sexual assault of a 26-year-old woman in the city of Fairfax.

That victim was attacked as she walked home from a grocery store. She survived.

A suspect has not been identified, but police released a composite sketch of the man who was described as black, between 25 and 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and, in 2005, sporting a mustache and beard".

But they never go as far as connecting them ...

Running with no one behind her? Did she have a psychotic break? Did she think someone was following her? (remember that post on her Twitter account) Was she trying to sober up?

But no one was chasing her? Now I'm wondering if she was running away from someone and effectively "lost them" for a short period of time, or if she was on drugs (which is a much less scary, but still horrible, alternative).

This is so true. I send text messages to family members all the time (while they are less than a mile away) and sometimes they don't get there for inordinate amounts of time.

I'm unfamiliar with the exact area where this took place, but Charlottesville has lots of hills and weird levels of streets/sidewalks. It's always possible poor reception in a dip in between hills caused a delay.

EDIT: oops, this was supposed to quote necco, in regards to cell phones messages...

That's a good point too. Someone may have been following her at some point. Or "if" drugs were in her system (involuntary or voluntary) perhaps she was hallucinating.
