What a horrible thing to happen to a loved one. I'm so heartbroken for his sister. I grew up in the area, but never heard of this case. I wonder if anyone has looked into whether there have been other cases of the desecration of a deceased's body in the Richmond area?
It's so shocking and brutal that it makes me believe that the person(s) responsible would likely have repeated this violent behavior later or had done something similar prior.. No one with a conscience could do such a thing and live with themselves afterwards.
May his family find comfort. May his soul rest in peace.
This story is so sad, he was gay and unhoused which led a lot of people to believe it was a hate crime. Unfortunately, his being unhoused also put him at a higher risk too, so it could've been a crime of opportunity. I personally believe Henry knew his killer in some way. The level of overkill is so extreme, it seems like a personal motivation would have triggered that level of rage.
The police suspected that the train-hopping serial killer, Michael Elijah Adams, did it, but he did not admit to it. He was pretty eager to talk about his crimes, so it would seem strange if he did it and then denied it when he admitted to others. But in this article he said, "Adams told me he might know who did it, but makes no claim for that slaying. And he's not shy about taking credit for killing." I attached screenshots of info from the Richmond Police. This Reddit thread also had some very interesting discussions. I live in Richmond and am heartbroken by this story and for the family. Hoping to bump this up and get some more people on it with me.
