The Durham County Sheriff’s Office has put out an update on Facebook that Elizabeth Ann Smith was later found alive after 1961, so she’s been definitely ruled out as being this Jane Doe.

I don’t know why the link won’t work so I’ll just post a photo.

Thanks for the update. Disappointing, but the height difference gave me doubts to begin with. Those pictures were certainly close in appearance, though!
