I've been looking for an msm report about the I-64 vehicle sighting in WV, but can't find one. Anyone have a link? Any additional info given?

I've texted 2 state trooper friends one in Beckley and the other near Snowshoe, waiting on an answer. Imo

The good old country folks are well versed in the law, they are volunteer EMTs and Firemen. They know what to do. Those of us that live in rural American are use to banning together, doing our own searches and are excellent marksmen. We are not a bunch of crazy hillbillies. We don't have the resources large cities have and in desperate time many locals can and are deputized. Most small counties have a Sheriff and a couple of deputies. Without locals we'd be up a creek without a paddle.

Kids are raised with gun safety, cleaning and shooting. My grandkids can hit the bullseye at 75 yards, 10 out of 10, but they know the dangers of guns. Kids still say yes man and no man and respect all.

ETA...And we don't have gangs and teenage violence. Their daddy's would beat their butts in a heartbeat.

I agreed with all until the last paragraph! West Virginia, for example, is one of the worst states for crime. High murder rate. Tons of violence including among teens. But all across Appalachia there is a huge amount of drugs and associated crimes among “good ol’ boys”.

Any parts of America where there’s poverty you’re going to find drugs and crime and murder and gangs. Even in rural areas.

Yes that post was before there was an arrest warrant issued Friday. At the time I was wondering why there hadn’t been in 4 days.

Yes. At the point I made the reply I didn’t know there had been an arrest warrant. (I’m behind). My answer is the same without an arrest warrant. It was clear to me that how they did things, their timing, was unrelated to the seriousness of the situation or whether LE felt a crime had been committed.

Oh man. I didn’t even realize that implication!
Yea. If this guy is desperate, anything is possible. He must be caught now! Really anxious on this one - similar to little Jayme Closs in many ways it seems.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I do agree. You know way more about LE and the behind the scenes than I do!!!!

And just for the record I was one that did questions LE ability in Cupcakes case. I now know, always, always listen to @MassGuy, he's not been wrong, yet.

Seriously! He’s been around a long time. Knows his stuff.

Girl at center of Amber Alert may be in southern West Virginia

On Sunday, authorities in Logan County, West Virginia said she may be in the area of southern West Virginia.

Part of the alert as I am trying to get it out quickly:
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. Authorities in Virginia has advised Sheriff Sonya M Dingess Porter that Logan County, WV or Cabell County, WV may be a location of the child and suspect. An exact location has not been provided. So it’s important to keep a watch out for them.

Oh, I was referring to my area, here in VA, not any other.

I agree McDowell County, WVA is one of the poorest, crime ridden, drug abusive counties in the country. The closing of the mines , no jobs, and folks just won't leave the area. My DH grew up in a hollar of McDowell County, use to be a great thriving place, now its desolate. A lot of families have moved and the kids don't come back after college. NO jobs.

Recent reports seem to be giving just the one vehicle tag # (some prior reports listed 2 or 3 other possibilities) I wonder if it's just an oversight or if the original tag # given has been confirmed via the sighting or camera footage?

My opinion only

Once he finds a secure place to stop, they will stop until they run out of supplies. Perhaps a stop at Walmart etc on the way. Steal a car. I think due to being the ex boyfriend (vs coach, teacher), he will go down by suicide by cop and kill Isabel (I hope not). I am thinking he wants to hurt Isabel's mother and will do it where they can be found.

They will need gas at some point, unless he carried with him.
Hope they stop.

Anyone know when they would call in the US Marshall’s? Feel like now would be a good time if they haven’t already?

OK .....my Beckley ST friend said, he heard it's a tip from tip line. He checked with others no known sighting, they'be been informed of, yet. LE is hot and heavy looking for the car? He said, same thing, don't let them head to the back county.

Imo....

Thank you for giving us these local updates!

I 'm not local to WVA, I'm in VA. My husband grew up in WVA and we have some friends and family still there.

He said, heavy traffic this weekend with the fall colors and special events. He's gonna call me later this evening or if he hears anything.
