Ive just been catching up on this case - Most things are being kept under wraps it seems so it’s hard to come to any solid thoughts / conclusions.

I am still wondering about a murder suicide situation that’s where my head is leaning at the minute.
That's one going through my head too or a jealous girlfriend/boyfried following them or a drug deal gone bad.

Officials said McComber’s body is with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond and that it typically takes about a month for an official cause of death. The sheriff’s office would not disclose the condition of McComber’s body.

As for the female victim, she’s been challenging for experts to identify, and said that whoever did this went through “extensive effort” to hide her identity.

Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett that McComber's family said the teen's AirTag last pinged in the 2100 block of New Town in Caroline County, just a mile from where the woman's body was found.

I had no idea there were so many flock cameras especially in the areas that his truck would have traveled. I'd imagine there would be plenty of cameras that caught his license plate especially having to cross the HRBT (Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel) or the Merrimack Tunnel or even taking the really long way around by the James River Bridge.

The question is. Did he and possibly the female travel to Va Beach on their own and something went wrong there and the killer drove his truck back to get rid of them? I think either way the person knew that area and where to get off the interstate. Also I don't even believe the truck just dropped off the face of the planet. I bet the cops know more about the whereabouts now otherwise the killer would have had to ditch the truck and walk themselves out of Caroline County on their own or was there another accompliace and they followed the truck and picked the driver up after the bodies were dumped.

I have another theory but I'll sit on that a bit.

I get confused on this part. I was thinking it was the phone that was tracked down to the Va Beach location and the Airtag that tracked him to Caroline County. Hence his phone was dumped in Va Beach and found by someone.

I'm still not sure about that. I'm hearing the female was younger more along near his age but it's just rumors and we have to wait until they ID her.

I agree, I thought she would be closer to his age, just bringing forward what I've found.

On Thursday, April 2, Caroline authorities arrested four people in connection with McComber’s death.

Details are limited at this time. However, Caroline County Sheriff Scott Moser told 8News that there are three male suspects and one female suspect. All have been charged with McComber’s murder.

At least some of these suspects were arrested after authorities executed a search warrant in a Henrico County apartment complex on Brilland Court.

Moser said that, at this time, none of these suspects is facing charges in connection with the unidentified female’s death.

“During the search of the home, investigators seized personal items believed to have been in Jayden McComber’s possession at the time he went missing,” the sheriff’s office said.

U.S. Marshals took Mayfield into custody during a traffic stop. A handgun was found on his person.

The remaining three suspects were arrested at the second residence, an apartment on Kenway Avenue.

Based on the investigation that’s been done by my guys, and with the cooperation of Hopewell, Henrico, the FBI and other individuals … they were able to put together their regional fugitive task force, and we were able to conduct a search warrant in Henrico County,” Moser said.

Moser said in that search, they recovered personal items believed to belong to McComber.

“Jayden was … he was only 18 years old,” Moser said. “And it’s just sad.”

The four people charged are young, too, Moser said. They have been identified as 23-year-old Rashad Mayfield of Henrico County, 20-year-old Devonti Pettaway of Chesterfield County, 18-year-old Kennady Lambert of Hopewell, and 19-year-old Jaden Phillips of Richmond.

McComber’s personal items are believed to have been found at Mayfield’s home. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop around the same time as the search.

“It’s a tragedy,” Moser said. “These individuals are all just children, really,” Moser said.

In my opinion this is going to be about organized crime, drug and/or sex trafficking. Poorly organized low level crime but organized crime never the less. I expect these deaths were over a perceived debt of a few thousand dollars.

Sadly, it looks like Jayden stumbled into a hornet's nest. RIP young man.
