I really thought the AirTag wouldn't ping that far away from where the family lives if it's trying to connect to their device(s) by Bluetooth.
I think on the “find my” app you can watch the travel. I don’t have an air tag but my air pods and iPad remind me of the location almost always exact if I forget them

If you're poking around Facebook he does have a page. Someone that is close to him posted on their page. I think it's some bad news but different news that's been going around about the other body found in the same county. The one found a few days ago must not be Jayden's.

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - Caroline County Sheriff’s Office said they found the body of Jayden McComber, 18, on March 31.

Deputies found the body near the Caroline/King and Queen County line.

McComber was reported missing on March 27, 2026.

Right now, the sheriff’s office believes this case is connected to the dead body found on Bagby Road, and that they were not random acts of violence.

March 31, 2026 another article - the deceased found off Bagby Road has now been determined to be female. I am no good with maps, but it appears the distance between both locations is about ten miles apart. Judging by the layers view on Google Maps, I imagine whoever is responsible for either would likely be familiar with the area.

Thank you for the update @imstilla.grandma. Sympathies to Jayden’s family and friends.

A little more detail:

BREAKING: Second body found in Caroline following search of pond

by FFP staff | Mar 31, 2026 | , Caroline, Police and Fire, Public safety
The body of a missing Henrico County man was found by Caroline County Sheriff’s Office investigators Tuesday.

The remains of Jayden McComber, 18, was recovered during a search of a pond near the border of Caroline and King and Queen counties.

McComber was reported missing on March 27. His family has been notified and has been working closely with investigators throughout the process.

According to a release from the Caroline Sheriff’s Office, the discovery is a result of around-the-clock efforts by investigators who followed leads and coordinated with partner agencies.

Based on evidence gathered thus far, investigators believe the case is connected to the discovery of another body found along Bagby Road this past weekend. Investigators are still working to identify that individual in coordination with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The investigation remains active and ongoing and the release from the sheriff’s office noted that investigators are confident the responsible parties will be identified and held accountable. Investigators do not believe the incidents were random acts.

“I am extremely proud of the work of our investigators,” Sheriff Scott Moser said. “They have worked around the clock under very difficult circumstances, following leads and piecing together critical information that led to today’s development. While this is a tragic situation, we are making significant progress and remain confident that those responsible will be brought to justice. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jayden McComber’s family during this incredibly difficult time.”

The sheriff’s office stated that no additional information will be released until there are further developments.

As of the time of reporting, the victim in the initial homicide investigation is still in the process of being identified due to the “sick and deliberate” methods used to make identification harder.

“I am extremely proud of the work of our investigators,” said Caroline Sheriff Scott Moser in a statement issued Friday.
