Virginia woman pleads not guilty in Wyoming to child porn charges

"A Virginia woman pleaded not guilty to two child pornography charges during her arraignment in federal court in Casper on Thursday. Jessica Shockley is charged with one count of production of child pornography after she allegedly made photos of herself molesting a 3-month-old child..."

"...She also is charged with one count of distribution of child pornography for allegedly sending an image of the assault to a Rock Springs [WY] man, according to the indictment...."

"A Bland County woman accused of sending child pornography, including some images she created, to a Wyoming sex offender she met through a social networking site set up for cell phone users, police said. Jessica Shockley, 23, will be arraigned on federal charges of producing and distributing child pornography on Thursday in Casper, Wyo. The Bland resident was arrested on Jan. 26 after police accused her of molesting an infant, taking photographs and then sending the images to the cell phone of 49-year-old James Eugene Hawkins of Rock Springs, Wyo.

Hawkins has already pleaded guilty to receiving the images and could face up to 40 years in prison when he’s sentenced...."

In 2008, Shockley was arrested on a Wythe County credit card theft charge that was later dismissed after she successfully completed a year of probation and 50 hours of community service.

According to court records, Shockley was working at Wytheville’s Econo Lodge in 2008 when she got a guest’s credit card number and tried to use it to wire her boyfriend money in Mexico.

At the time, she had no prior criminal record.

Shockley’s Facebook page and court records indicate that she has two children – a boy and girl.

A 24-year-old woman from Virginia was sentenced Friday to 20 years in federal prison for producing child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Christopher Crofts, District of Wyoming.

In addition to the prison sentence, Jessica Shockley, of Bland, Va., was also ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson to pay a $1,000 fine, and she will be on lifetime probation after she's released from prison.
