VA - Jholie Moussa, 16, Fairfax County, 12 Jan 2018 *Arrest*

  • #241
Sorry if I missed this: when did the text for the Norfolk party go out? They should be able to connect/find the tower ping or whatever it's called. And was it on kid's phone? Old woman clarifying, apologies.

Henry, thanks for the map!!

Not to mention someone will ask to borrow your cell phone so they can steal it, run off with it. IMO

And or hack it, etc.

Jmo I don’t think the police could have saved her, as she was very likely killed long before she was even reported missing. And they knew from family that she did leave on her own, voluntarily. It was not out of the question that she stayed away on purpose. I think it is the word “runaway” that is so inflammatory to many. But many more teens return home after taking off on their own than come to harm. It will always be a tough call and LE will always be called to account when the outcome is horrible.

Hi Cluciano :cat:

It was interesting to learn that the term "runaway" is no longer used by (I forget whom)...I read it somewhere yesterday...was it the FBI?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too.
Now thinking about the perp being old or around jholie age. Would a man risk asking a 12 year old to use him phone and leave a witness. Assuming he had already been texting or snapchatting jholie on his own phone before that. Why suddenly use that boys. Unless he was originally contacting her using wi-fi from inside a house then when he went out he had no internet data on his phone.
If that's the case all that, makes me think young lad.
Good question....why kill her?
What if....no intention of killing her. He had other things on his mind with a young girl. So he uses another phone either as you say he no longer has access or he doesn't want someone else to know who might see his phone bill.
No access, I agree with your scenario.
Hiding his phone records.....then older, 30ish.

Either scenario, she doesn't buy it, says no. He's angry and we know how it ended.

Henry, thanks for the map!!
Jolie's sister received a text from jholie s phone at 8.08pm the same night she went missing, telling her she was going to a party in Norfolk.

Your welcome...it actually gave me chills after seeing how close the locations. It all came together.

That text to her sister about the party was at 8.02pm. We don't know where the phone was when that text was sent or even if it was actually from jholie. That would have been approximately 3 and half hours after jholie left her house.

As I said from Day 1, "red herring", moo.

ETA: Years ago I posted an article in another thread which talks about the increasing occurrences of perps using a victim's cellphone, pretending to be the victim, trying to throw things off. Since then, I've probably seen this a gazillion times in cases here.

Is this screaming local to anyone besides me? Rest in peace, sweet child, so full of life and promise. No leads still? Locard's exchange principle..must be something there.

Yes, me too. The only thing that gives me pause is flashbacks of Chris Hansen's "To Catch a Predator", where dirtbags drive miles and miles sometimes to meet someone.

But yes, feels local and close imo.

Agreed....local, close, and LE had someone help them find the location of the body on a second search.
Her friends probably know or have heard her talking about this man. Maybe the sister too....possible she hid it from the sister but not typical.

If the perp was younger it would tie in with the friends not cooperating.
It does sound like she refused and she got killed. It. Something's don't sound right for it to be a planned killing. Surely there is easier ways without leaving a witness. He could have just used a burner phone.

Yeah. I'm thinking that this text came from the perp, after Jholie was no longer alive.

Yes it does seem to be happening a lot more.

Sounds impulsive.....have to see her today, so get close enough and find someone to borrow phone.

I guess we have a lot of perps with no idea of textual (literary) or content analysis. Some people write and, one would imagine, text, in specific manners and styles. A text saying going to Norfolk would sound ridiculous coming from a young girl living over 3 hours away at that time of night.

This is a victim friendly site and there is absolutely noooooooooooooo indication that Jolie was into anything illegal, but since I'm an MMJ patient/huge stoner and old hippie and do not consider Marijuana to be bad as some others do, I am going to throw this out there: I am getting a little bit of a Kaitlyn Cargill vibe. Again, be easy on me as I'm not saying this is the case, but if so, it would not be a surprise as she is 16, and some teens this age do undergo periods of experimentation, etc. I can not think of many other reasons someone would just run out real quick, people not be cooperative, etc. What is there to hide?
