VA - Jholie Moussa, 16, Fairfax County, 12 Jan 2018 *Arrest*

Why do you feel the boy led the police there?

Again, pure speculation, but also based on the implication from LE that they searched the park based on ‘investigative leads’.

The body was discovered this morning by police officers who were at Woodlawn Park conducting a search for Moussa. This was our second time searching the park based on investigative leads.

I agree. I think the boy is real and his description of this person is accurate. Dark skin, hair with short twists at the basketball court. Sounds like any other young guy. They searched there twice. You don't do that without leads. So perhaps they had his phone pings & Jholie's phone pings and he is fully cooperating. Sketch, etc.

I have my own theory but not enough info yet.

A source has confirmed one of last phone calls to Moussa’s phone came from an area near the park where she was found dead. However, the GPS of the cellphone was not accurate enough to tell if the call came exactly from the park. Moussa's family had previously said an unknown man borrowed a 12-year-old boy’s phone to make a call to Moussa's phone on the day she went missing. It remains unclear if that man is a suspect in this case.

Fairfax County police said nearly two weeks ago that the FBI was assisting in the search for Moussa.

A memorial service for Moussa is scheduled to be held Thursday at a church in Springfield.

What does "isolated incident" mean? Not a SK so no cause to worry? Not sure.

I think that would be because they consider her as having been targeted rather than a random killing.

Somewhere up-thread it was stated that the boy playing basketball said the man who asked to use his cell had hair with short twists, I believe like short dreads. That's too long for any military branch, AFAIK.

Short twists are usually not considered to be the exact same as dreads.
If you google images of dreads, twists, braids etc you can see the difference. Probably not good for military regardless but not the same as dreads.

Found a good explanation:

The difference between 'Locks' and 'Twists' are:
TWISTS are the stage that hair goes through to become locks. Twists are simply bunches of hair that have been twisted together , and look like locks. The primary difference is that twists can unravel- they aren't permanent. Most people get twists, and keep them in for a few weeks, then have them taken out for a new hair style.Twists are typically shorter in length; they are normally no more than 1 to 2.5 inches long.

[h=1]Jholie Moussa's mother wants to change protocol for certain missing persons cases[/h]
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - After police found 16-year-old Jholie Moussa dead in a Fairfax County park, her mother says her life's mission will be to make sure there are changes to the way law enforcement investigate certain missing persons cases.

Syreeta Steward-Hill says from the day she reported her daughter missing on Jan. 13, she did not believe Moussa would willingly stay away from home. Yet Fairfax County Police classified Moussa as a runaway, saying they did not believe she was in danger.

Two weeks later on Friday, investigators found Moussa dead under brush inside Woodlawn Park. The park sits less than a mile from Jholie's home where she was last seen on Jan. 12.
Steward-Hill is also asking for anyone with information about Moussa's death to come forward.

On Monday, a source with knowledge of the investigation told FOX 5 one of the last calls made to Moussa's cellphone came from the vicinity near the park where she was found dead. Family members had previously said an unidentified man borrowed a boy's phone and called Moussa. It is unclear if that man is a suspect of person of interest in the case.

Who's the source that said there's a suspect?

An Amber Alert wouldn't have saved Jholie, IMO. She wasn't reported missing until the next day. I don't support an alert for every runaway. There would be so many alerts that people would become immune to hearing them, thus taking away the urgency the Amber Alert currently has.

I agree with this. As sad as this case is, she did leave on her own so technically the runaway label was correct. I really don't know what the criteria should be though.

IMO this has everything to do with the guy who used the boys phone to call Jholie

Right now the guy who used the boy's phone only exists in the mind of the boy, unless there is something else not released.
