I'm a little confused. I assumed from reading the article that John was from Chesterfield, VA, but when I mapped the street on google, Adingham Ct had a Richmond, VA address. Adingham Ct is a one-block street with addresses in the 100's. Here is the map:

The quickest route is 21 miles/30 minutes. The park is also quite large, and it was not noted exactly where his vehicle was found (the press released stated John's car was found near the park, BBM):

Google maps said that Pocahontas State Park is "An 8,000-acre park offering hiking, biking & horse trails, plus 2 fishing lakes & an aquatic center."

I can't find anywhere that LE or the media states his car has been found. Then again, usually when a person is missing along with their vehicle LE provides a make/model, color and license plate # if the vehicle is also missing. There is no mention of such in any of the articles.

VERY little information is coming out on this case. LE did get on it fast as he was last seen Monday and the alert came out on Tuesday. But how did he get to the park? No mention of LE looking for or having found his vehicle. If he even owned a vehicle. He was seen at a park on the south side of Richmond and he lives on the north side, either in or near Tuckahoe area. It would seem he either drove there or someone drove him there. No mention of why he was at the park. Hiking? Using the mountain bike trails? Or meeting up with someone? There are too many blank spaces here.

It will be one week tomorrow. LE has said next to nothing about the case. I'm hoping this is because they are about 99% sure they know what happened and are just compiling the evidence. Because it appears they really don't want anything from the public. Otherwise, I hope this isn't one of those cases where they let valuable info out to the public weeks or months later when memories eventually fade.

Local rumor is that LE suspect Fergusson committed suicide :(

That doesn't sound at all good. However, those committing suicide are usually found. That is, they don't hide their bodies. In any event, I hope this theory doesn't negatively affect LE with regard to search efforts.

Yea, I wondered that too, JnRyan. I understand the state park was pretty thoroughly searched and it's not like we've had snow or anything to complicate things. But we that follow these things know areas can be searched several times and people can be missed. Hoping he is found soon and his family can have some answers.

Hi! Im Johns step sister and to clear up some confusion, his car was found at the park with almost of his belongings in it, so he did drive there. And he is not originally from Henrico he only started living at that address when his mom moved in. It has been a year since this happened and now we know what happened, more information will be coming out soon I hope.

He’s been there the whole time. Don’t know how the police missed it. The theory is he walked all over to throw off the dogs scent. This information has not come out yet but I am a part of the family.

I am a part of the family and more information will be coming out soon, but it seems as if he may have covered himself up. He’s been found, but it was very planned out to ensure he wouldn’t be found easily.

Thank you so much for letting us know and I am so sorry for your loss. I do hope more is shared (with the right people, doesn't have to be the public) to help improve future searche s.

Thank you, it’s been a crazy past few days. I hope we can learn more about what happened soon. It’s crazy that it’s almost been a full year, and he was there the whole time, and he’s just been found.

There was little to no evidence found after a week or two, considering he was in the park the whole time that makes sense. It took almost a full year to the day but he was found. This was very calculated as he hoped to not be found. It is truly a tragedy and we held out hope this whole time, but he’s been gone pretty much since he left.
