this case is HORRENDOUS. i consider myself well-calloused to many true crime stories at this point but listening to this man cry for help before he died horribly absolutely wrecked me.

Following....this is the first I've heard about this case, local to me. Suggestion to family: contact local talk radio station WLNI--they may feature Johnny's story. They would be a great tool for publicizing it and getting the word out to the community. Praying real answers will come soon, something odd definitely happened to this man!

@MysteryMisfits4Truth , have you contacted this radio station? Sounds like a good way to inform people, maybe generate tips or maybe public pressure in the right places?

Going West Podcast just covered this case. I legit cannot see how ANYONE can listen to the audio and think that Johnny was not murdered. He literally hear the entire attack/confrontation.

Anyone have any idea what kind of homicide could cause excessive vomiting, defecation, and blood loss? Perhaps Johnny was forced to ingest poison?

I wondered if he could have been injected with something but would they automatically look for something like a pinprick during autopsy?

Oh wait, but I guess tox would have shown something I would think if that were the case. Nevermind me!

I hate to say this but he could've been assaulted with an object sexually.

It's early here, so sorry if I'm remembering this case incorrectly, but I believe this was the case where LE claimed natural causes, with no autopsy/tox screen being performed and the family cremating the remains.

That may explain the blood loss and defecation, but do think vomiting might also be symptom of such trauma?

I definitely do.

Haven't been able to locate any recent updates. Curious if Johnny's family is progressing in search of more answers. Seems so unfair for Johnny's family since they were not given correct info at the beginning. MOO

Unfortunately, the case is closed. Imo, it should be reopened. moo

Hope Johnny's family does not give up and will continue with further investigation into this matter.

Disappointed in how this was handled.

Commonwealth's Attorney announces no charges in death of John Cashman

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Back in May, we reported on the case of John Cashman after his family came to us to get answers on his their son's death.

Now we know that the Lynchburg Commonwealth's Attorney will not be pressing charges in Cashman's death.

Bethany Harrison is citing a lack of evidence after reviewing the crime scene, photo, and video evidence.
I heard him say Dude dude what the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 are you doing you are knifing me. I was watching this video of it
I now think he was knifing him b/c you can here Johnny say well I heard loudly then Dude dude what the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 are you doing then softly saying you are knifing me. He also said what are you doing to me? He knifed him in the rectum then down his throat this is why he had no blood on his shoes and he did have blood on his face, that you zoomed up on a long streak down his face and a small blood dot on his nose Time Stamp 17:00. Time Stamp 15:29 At the end he says "What are you doing to me? NOT What are you doing man? Also I just noticed is that a keycoded door knob? He may have changed the code so Johnny couldn't leave, b/c he didn't have the new code. So johnny tried to leave to get help but couldn't.

When the man walks back up the stairs I think it occurs to him that police could get his fingerprints or DNA from door handle so he goes back and uses his jacket to wipe the handle. Also, right before leaving you can see him try to clean his face with his hands.
