A judge has denied all of Amber Heard's motion to have the verdict of her blockbuster defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp thrown out and the case re-tried.

Judge DENIES Amber Heard's motion to have verdict of trial thrown out

As she should. It was like everything AH has done throughout. The motions were exaggerated and full of misstatements of fact, something the defense attorneys should be sanctioned for at this point. A mistake is a mistake, but when you repeatedly misstate facts as an officer of the court it is an issue. For instance, way back in closing arguments. EB stated as fact that AH couldn't pay the charities because SHE had paid over 6 million in legal fees due to this suit. EB KNEW exactly who was paying her bills, and she knew it was travelers insurance and not Ms. Heard. That right there should have prompted a complaint to the VA bar. MOO

Everything that came after was just more literal GRUMPY (to use JD vernacular) and EB should be ashamed of her conduct. Accusing jurors of being influenced by SM. Accusing the judge of questionable rulings throughout, doubling down on the defamation by going on TV interviews.

It is very sad what this attorney has been reduced to since taking on her client. And now she is becoming a laughingstock. She is a very experienced and WAS highly respected attorney.

BTW, I note in the juror questionnaire, 15 did not misstate his age. It is my understanding the jury duty notifications went out, two individuals sharing the same name resided there. One of those appeared for court, showed and did so in good faith, believing they had been summoned to do so. Once again, EB tries to spin some conspiracy that doesn't exist all because nobody believes her client.
The fact that EB continues this foolishness makes me very sad for her. I have come to believe recently that EB is a true believer in AH's rubbish. She is ruining her reputation and possibly her career by continuing with this farce. IMO

Has AH and 'team' ever actually filed a proper/official appeal yet?

Not yet. She’ll have to pony up alot of $$$ to file an appeal. They were hoping the Judge would grant their Motions to reverse the Verdict AND the amount of her judgment.

But as we just found out, those Motions are Denied!

She has until July 24 to file an appeal.

Well we know she has some money. She lied on the stand and said she had to pay attorney fees because JD sued her so she couldn't pay her pledge. And we find out Travelers insurance payed over 5 mil. She is not as broke as EB tried to make her out to be. Unless she spent all that divorce settlement traveling the world. jmo.

So she has 11 days to get that money together and file an appeal....that sure won't happen I bet.

Perhaps, the 'twitter saga' may cause a delay in answering

Oh, to be a fly on the wall. AH must be quickly organizing those sticky notes to forward to the ACLU staff so that they can pen her memoir.

DENIED!

Judge A is a class act. Glad she denied all of these frivolous motions. I think it is pretty clear she was not impressed by EB and AH's arguments.

It is my understanding that the actual jury summons itself does not list the birthdate at all. Further proof that there was nothing untoward going on here. And now we have evidence that Juror 15 declared his birthday truthfully on the initial juror questionnaires etc.

With regard to the appeals process, I believe AH can just pay a nominal fee to appeal. But if she wants to stop any collection action/investigation of assets on that $10.4 million she owes, she has to pony up the full amount plus 6% interest as a surety. That's where I think she will fall short. But don't be surprised if she still files an appeal at the last minute.

JD is in the same boat, he still has to pay the $2 million. Can't just take 2 million from her total.

Where did the Heard team get the idea that the jury summons was for the elderly father? The legal team must have neglected to see the actual summon in question.

I don't even understand why an attorney would make such nonsense claims when everything is right there and it was her responsibility to look at the questionnaire etc before trial. I thought she had tried cases there before so she should have known their DOB isnt on the jury summons. She has destroyed her credibility as an attorney IMO. And wasnt she saying it had 1945 on the summons? How did she come up with that?
