Yes. I didnt know what I was talking about. I was thinking when someone's arrested and they have to pay a bond then its a percentage of cash down. I guess these kind of bonds are different.
Yeah, it's not like bail bonds... it's more like "bonding the judgment money over".

Also there was some confusion rolling around for a while, due to the requisite $500 filing fee that also has to accompany an appeal.

Was it mentioned by EB that AH can't pay her legal fees? If so, what happened to Traveler’s insurance covering the legal fees?
It was; but that's more or less business as usual for EB/a defendant's attorney.

They are always going to say the defendant can't cover the legal fees; even if they can.

w/r/t to Travelers, I think someone has said there's an exemption if the policy holder has been deemed guilty of malfeasance.

In short, I wouldn't be surprised if Travelers was the only party that paid to date; nor that/if every penny of the money she originally got from JD, was instantaneously parked in whatever best tax shelter vehicle the richest billionaire in the world could advise her exists, and has been firmly ensconced there ever since, earning her interest on the principal.

as per this article, the AH AZ house is not specifically in her name, so not necessarily a completely straight forward task for JH to start collecting her assets, IMO

Johnny Depp 'trying to settle' lawsuit

Bang Showbiz - Yesterday 6:00 pm
Johnny Depp is reportedly trying to settle an alleged assault case before it goes to court.

Gregg 'Rocky' Brooks filed court documents back in 2018, in which he accused the actor of "maliciously and forcefully" punching him twice in his ribs on the set of 'City of Lies' before saying he'd pay the location manager $100,000 to "punch [him] in the face" in April 2017.

The case is scheduled to go up before the courts next month, but sources told RadarOnline.com that Johnny's legal team have been "deep in negotiations" with the location manager's team up until late this week in a bit to settle the matter out of court.

However, a deal has not yet been agreed.........

.....I cannot remember 'why' exactly JD reportedly hit this dude, other than it was perhaps applauded by some?, IMO. But, ok. Thanks, Radar Online. ( Has AH's PR been in touch?)

It sounds suspect? It says “no one else has confirmed this“.
Do we know if this is a legit source?

Guess we will see soon if it is accurate. I would think this would be huge news across SM platforms so far I don’t see it anywhere.

I don't think that Disney offer is true, at this point.

My husband worked for Disney in Entertainment division for 25 years. Disney does not work that fast in such big , expensive decisions. They may end up giving Johnny a big offer like that again. But I don't think they would announce it this quickly, nor without fanfare.

They typically would be having Johnny's agents and lawyers meeting w/Disney execs behind the scenes first, for awhile. If they do come together in agreement, THEN it would hit the news, but with much fanfare and with photo opps showing Johnny with the Disney CEO, etc....it wouldn't just be announced in small alternative outlets first, IMO.

Knowing Disney, they are quickly scrambling behind the scenes----doing marketing, interviewing and taking internal polls and trying to get an accurate account of which way the wind is blowing. They don't like making controversial missteps and have made a few recent blunders already.

Since the title is in the form of a question, my guess is it's just speculation.

I would think it would be trending Twitter and everywhere else

Even on the news networks that reported on the trial
