I don't believe her attempts to discredit this are going to be successful. AH counsel is coming off as combative. Never a good tact to take when handling an expert IMO.

This expert witness alone has more smarts and eloquence in her words than AH’s entire legal team. This is how an expert should speak. Not throwing random phrases every 5 seconds: “objection hearsay” for no reason.

I watched an old punked episode of Overhaul where Johnny & AHs dad had her mustang secretly refurbished . AH thought her car was stolen .She went from 0 to- 100% -rage mode- when she thought L.E. was more interested in a photo op with Johnny than finding her stolen mustang.
After she realized she’d been punked…in the end…She hit Johnny and her Dad.
She’s definitely is a hitter.
Still can’t believe she socked her friend in face while they were out shopping. Out of nowhere!

I emphatically remember all the bleeps that had to go into her responses, lol.

I also remember in the last trial or divorce filing, that she claimed this had only been done for TV to make Johnny look good; and that she had in fact had to pay.

johnny’s mechanic, conversely, testified that he had done anything and everything necessary for it to pass inspection on Johnny’s tab ; and that what Amber had in fact asked for was a batch of unnecessary aftermarket customizations to make it into her actual idea of her dream car, I guess.

The first witness today is Terence Dougherty, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel ACLU, via video testimony/deposition

  • #386
No! Say it isn't so! This guy says AH did in fact NOT give 3.5 million to the ACLU, as she promised .

He questioned how/why AH was chosen to be the Ambassador to the ACLU.

Ahh! The political spin.....
ACLU/ Women's rights and Publication/Communication questions.

Boy this is a long drawn out deal about some "pledge" which frankly has no basis for legal enforcement. Time to move on in this case to AH's case and close the case out. AH is not the first person who "pledges" money and then either changes their priorities or has cash problems. I guess all this time spent on this really a waste.

What happened to the people they were questioning yesterday? I'm getting confused. lol

Just an aside, while listening to this boring testimony...
But, I heard that Elon Musk was assisting AH with legal representatives with her 'donation' issues. I giggle.....:D

they were done.

The deponents have completed their recorded testimonies when the icon of that traffic cone flashes on the video screen (I think that is the symbol of a video app called VLC, that works for Windows but not in Mac, where it’s usually done in an app called QuickTime).

So true .. she obviously lied about donating her settlement. And if her lady lawyer cross examines, I'm worried about how many times she will ask if AH was wearing makeup when she signed her donation pledge.

I thought for sure we were supposed to hear more from his divorce attorney. I don't know why I thought that but thank you for the explanation!

This testimony just proves (to me) that AH is a total fraud. MOO

Interesting that Musk’s lawyer said late yesterday he would not be testifying…and his name is brought up several times with this witness today.

Not at all surprised...very fitting. Everything is coming together now and making a lot of sense. I am very sad for this poor baby Amber had via a surrogate. Imagine having her as a mother. :( JMOO
She’s a mother? I missed that tidbit. Scary!

AH seems to have a good poker face .. It will be interesting to see how or if that changes when she is on the stand.

How much of Heard's $7m divorce settlement went to charity?

Terence Dougherty, from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), tells the court he studied law at Columbia University and previously worked for the law firm Patterson Belknap.

He tells the court he was the ACLU's first in-house lawyer and he is now the chief operating officer and general counsel.

Johnny Depp's lawyer asks if he knows how much money Amber Heard has donated to the ACLU.

Mr Dougherty says he does but asks if the lawyer means direct payments or payments on her behalf.

He says Heard has paid £350,000 directly. Indirectly, £100,000 has been paid as a cheque from Depp and two other payments totalling $850,000 - a total of $1.3 million.

This is relevant as Heard said she donated her $7m divorce settlement to the ACLU and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

"It's fair to say that she has not donated $3.5 million as of today," Depp's lawyer asks and Mr Dougherty says this is "true".

The $100,000 from Depp is credited towards the amount, Mr Dougherty says. He says they asked Heard if it should be, and she said it should.

Did Elon Musk have any involvement in $500,000 donation?

Johnny Depp's lawyer asks about one of the indirect payments, $500,000 from non-profit Vanguard Charitable, to the ACLU.

Terence Dougherty says it is believed that this is from a donor-advised fund set up by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

The court hears Musk - who Heard had a relationship with after Depp - is also a donor to the ACLU in his own right.

Musk was set to testify later in the trial, but according to Court TV, which is streaming the case, he no longer will be.

This questioning is all about Heard's $7m divorce settlement, which she said she would donate to the ACLU and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
