Hopefully this will show up in MSM, but there was a moment this morning when she was using a tissue, she saw a photographer out of the corner of her eye and she paused and posed for the photo. You can see it all happen and then see the camera flash. It's nuts. I'll try to find it when L&C posts their clips.

I think there is a grain of truth; he has always been audibly jealous of his lovers and Winona’s/Kate Moss’ ‘he was such a caretaker/I felt so very safe with him’, could be some more independent and easily irritated woman’s “this is a little paternalistic and chauvinistic for me” but, as always, she over-eggs it with frequency and intensity of these (sometimes faked or exaggerated) instances, to me, specifically because she ‘needs’ these stories to be so bad they justify an outcome of her leaving him.

IMO she is writing a fictive story starting from the end (which she cannot change) and going backwards trying to make things all fall in her favor; and the screenwriter of “Memento”, she ain’t.

I honestly think neither of these actors will have a meaningful career left after this.

I think JD still has a lot of support from Hollywood bigwigs. I think he will likely produce and star in some big independent films in the future. There are plenty of people that don't believe he physically abused her. People accept that he is an addict but that is common in big stars because of stress and pressure, etc.

i have to wonder how this is playing with the jury...it seems repetitive and same behaviors over and over for both of them. I am getting bored with her testimony and ready for cross.

…yeah that deep voice, librarian sweater, no make up , dirty hair ….& more about ALL the people that wanted to sleep with her. Gag.
She needs SO MUCH attention I wanna run away from her!
WHY does saying how messed up JD acted dismiss her hittting, throwing, breaking, shat-on-bedding, raging, stalking, threatening & ultimately blackmailing JD?
WHY is she not showing proof that she was not abusive to JD?

I think JD may be ok,he is an exceptional actor and as Richard Marks pointed out,before AH and her viciousness Johnny Depp was a known drug user,known for being a bit eccentric and maybe even a bit of diva in some ways,but he was beloved and very employable in all that time.
Drink and drugs aside,he doesn't ever seem to have put a foot wrong in Hollywood.

From a fan's point of view I think a lot of the poor behavior and excessive substance abuse became much more apparent once he got together with Amber Heard. His appearance has always been consistent, he is an incredibly handsome man and there is just a quality about him that endears,but since he got with AH he slowly but surely looked a bit of a wreck. Dishevelled and a bit grubby.
I don't say that as an insult at all,purely an observation on my part.
Hopefully the Amber affect has worn off now.

I’m Team JD for sure but I wonder if AH isn’t completely to blame. I feel like they fed off of each other. Some people are just toxic together. It’s possible his addictions were finally taking over and he wasn’t able to control them as well. That does happen with addicts - they can only hide it for so long.

'He takes it too far, hits me too hard'

Amber Heard now talks about a meeting that was set up with a sci-fi writer called Clive Barker in December 2014. She says Mr Barker wanted to work on a project with her, and she was very keen to work with him. He is famous for writing the Hellraiser and Candyman series.

Heard she says Mr Barker was "terminally ill" at the time, and so the meeting was at his home. She says this caused issues with Depp, who accused her of wanting to sleep with the author.

Heard says that this led to violence and argument between them, saying of Depp: "He takes it too far, hits me too hard, breaks something in the house and leaves... He just split." She says he "never had to deal with the clean up... or my face".

She says at the time she tried to placate Depp, because: "I didn't want him to think I was this he said I was all the time."

We are shown an email exchange between Depp and Heard about her meeting with Mr Barker in which Depp writes: "Agony is never the answer to any equation or occasion. Nor is rage... Please know, that my apology is sincere and solid... And, as stupid as it sounds, I hope your meeting with Clive Barker is excellent!!!"

In another email Depp apologises again, writing: "I'm sorry... for my behaviour... I'm a **** savage... The Devil is All Around, right...??" He also refers to himself a "lunatic". Heard says these words are all to describe what the couple dubbed "the monster" - Depp's bad behaviour when drunk or taking drugs.

No doubt it was a toxic relationship. But there's a big jump between that and him beating her.

I see this slightly different, but agree on many of your points.

I am of the amateur speculation that some of what AH says rings true. Living with a substance abuser is unpredictable, and his behavior was likely unpleasant. Perhaps very unpleasant and disturbing at times. Did he brutalize her? We have not seen any proof of that thus far. Did she intentionally and vengefully harm his career? The jury will decide, but I would say ATM it would appear he had good cause to take the legal action he has. Again, it will be up to the jury, not me, the armchair amateur.

As far as his looks, well he is 58 years old; not a young man anymore. It would appear he likes the funky boho look that we have come to associate him with. Funky boho aside, I absolutely noted his pallor; he looked a bit yellow tinged to me, suggesting his liver is unhappy. But that's just my amateur opinion and speculation; I'm not a medical person.

I'm sorry this talented and much loved actor is finding himself in this place at age 58 when he should be enjoying the rewards of his work, his children, and select projects ahead. Instead, this mess. I'm sorry to say that he was the author of this very unfortunate chapter in his life. Regardless, I think those of us who appreciate him wish him well, and hope he prevails in this legal action.

Oh Johnny....so sad. Here's to sunnier days ahead!

Amateur opinion and speculation

I am not certain that AH purposefully and deliberately hurt JDs career. I think she wanted to be seen as a victim because that is what the younger people who grew up in the cancel culture and the Me Too movement want--to receive sympathy via social media for being victim and receive status for overcoming adversity. Frankly JDs career damage came not so much from AH but from the media amplifying and repeating AHs claims, trying to excite public controversy and increase sales/advertising revenue by offering the public titillating stories about the rich and famous.
