This is terrible to listen to. And to know this relationship was so incredibly toxic, one of them was recording it.
I mean, who does that? And why?
Ugh.

Why are there so many "private" conversations between AH and JD that are recorded?
It was a therapy tool, as per his suggestion.

After watching her testimony, you can probably see why, lol.

I’m sure she drove him nuts constantly telling him that she did not in fact say what his ears and brain tell him that she in fact literally said 5 seconds earlier.

By his opening testimony, he always told her when he was recording; she would record in secret and not tell him.

That recording is hard to listen to.

What an unbelievably toxic relationship this was. Two people who should never have been in the same orbit at all.

Yeah, no. She sounded deranged and evil. He sounded like a normal person dealing with deranged and evil.

I agree he fell for it; but she pursued him and dishonestly sculpted herself to ‘coincidentally’ seem like they shared all the same interests.

Oh I agree completely. I absolutely believe she leeched off of his interest in her and wrapped herself around him emotionally.

CV is pushing all the right buttons with the jealousy retort. :D

It’s so fascinating to me that anytime she gets caught in a trap via the testimony of others she immediately says that the person who testified was mistaken. She can never ever admit to being in the wrong whatsoever.
Just like the "tampon tube"...
Her sister allegedly taught JD how to use it with cocaine. Its always someone else's fault. She's never in the wrong.

We are seeing a pattern in this trial.

Nothing like listening to an argument between two roaring drunks. AH sounds like she enjoys a fight, and will provoke one on the drop of a dime, LOL

I’m so impressed with what she’s been delivering. It’s in depth and examines the actual things that have been documented, as opposed to AH’s constant assertions about things that have happened that have no proof behind them.

I’ll, well maybe not ‘enjoy’, but at least ‘be eager to’ listen to the un-bleeped versions in the evidence folder later.

Vasquez hasn’t skipped a beat so far.

She also doesn’t seem to be following a timeline order and will go back to things. Hope she brings up her lie about those donations again, catching Heard off guard thinking Vasquez was finished with that.

And fight until she has the last word...

I’m starting to think that, given the choice between this and the single life with video games and pizza, I’ll take the latter and hope for the best!

(This is a joke but also… goodness me, this audio)

Did they both agree to recording these arguments? Was JD aware that AH was recording these intimate conversations?

Which is good, because as people have pointed out, Elaine did her best to jump around and muddle the timeline.

Yes, you can real see the paradox here.

JD was counteracting being gaslit by recording conversations to be played back to her. Because she would say she couldn't remember, or tell him he heard it wrong, or you took what I had to say out of context or that's not what I said. For his own sanity he was tape recording to play back to her. And she was told ahead of time she was being tape-recorded.

AH on the other hand allegedly acts deceptive and devious. Hiding videos to tape him. Taking snap shots that looked staged. It all feels calculating and insincere.

He says no.

That he always told her he was so doing, whereas she often (mostly/all? He wasn’t specific) didn’t tell him.

In fact, in the video she uploaded of him slamming cabinets, it’s pretty obvious he didn’t know because once he figures it out, he lunges directly for the phone.

Yes Amber, every single person who has ever testified negatively about you is wrong but you only ever tell the truth. Of course.
