Depp lawyer looks at Washington Post piece

Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez is now looking at the opinion piece written by Amber Heard and published by The Washington Post in 2018.

She points out the article was published on 18 December 2018 before asking Heard: "Aquaman was realised on 21 December 2018 right?"

Heard replies: "Yes, that sounds correct."

Ms Vasquez asks: "That was your first blockbuster big budget role right?"

"I disagree but it was the first time I had a leading role in a movie of that size yes, well second time yes," Heard responds.

Ms Vasquez goes on to look at the context of the article and brings up a section of the article in which Heard writes "friends and advisors told me I would never again work as an actress".

Heard says she is "referring to being associated with domestic violence".

The lawyer then draws her attention to a paragraph that reads: "Two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out."

Ms Vasquez asks: "This is about Mr Depp isn't it?"

Heard replies: "No."

The lawyer then says that May of 2016 is when Heard publicly accused Depp of domestic violence and this is two years prior to the date the article was published.

She goes on to ask Heard: "It's your testimony under oath that this statement is not about Mr Depp?"

"It is not, it is about what happened to me afterwards. That was a more interesting thing for me to write about," Heard says.

One glaring item for me is an abused woman is not going to poke or taunt their abuser. IMO she is lying about everything. JD continues to avoid and leave verbal confrontations. AH just wants to keep engaging. Not at all how an abused woman would react.
Hey Bravo!

I was trying to find the right word on what AH was "doing." AH just wants to keep ENGAGING. She doesn't want to let it go. She doesn't want it to stop. She's engrossed....

And he needed to leave or escape for his sanity. Unfortunately, an abuser doesn't like it when you do not stand there and listen to the abusive rant, so walking away can seem like the absolutely worst option at the time of attack, yet walking away from verbal abuse is probably the best option, every time. And he TRIED...

This woman is simply unreal. The way she speaks to JH in these recordings is absolutely inexcusable.

If any of us were sipping something every time AH and/or JD hurl an 'F' bomb, we'd all be under the table by now :D

Using 'fake sexual violence allegations as both the sword and the shield'

The court is now read several statements from articles containing quotes from Johnny Depp's lawyer during the UK trial, Adam Waldman.

The first says Amber Heard and her friends used "fake sexual violence allegations as both the sword and the shield depending on their needs".

The second article, which Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez says was published in Daily Mail.com says: "The various discrepancies show that nothing Amber Heard and her friends said [about the event on 21 May 2016] could be considered credible." He says Heard and her friends called 911 twice and calls it "simply an ambush, a hoax."

Ms Vasquez says Amber Heard has cited both of these statements as defamatory.

imo

Well well well, @katydid23, all is clear now with regards to her desperation … AH said aloud the magic words:

“[Warner Bros] released me from my contract; and I don’t really know how much of the final cut of Aquaman 2 I am in fact in.’

Amber Heard's tweet to Adam Waldman

The court is now shown a tweet Amber Heard sent to Johnny Depp's lawyer in March 2021.

Yesterday Depp's lawyer questioned Heard intensively about her make up routine and alleged damage to her face which the actress claims was caused by Depp.

Amber Heard: 'I enjoy being a mother more than anything'

Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez asks Amber Heard whether she enjoys being a mother. Heard has a one year old little girl.

Heard replies: "More than anything".

Ms Vasquez asks if Heard still enjoys cooking and hiking, and Heard says she has given the hiking a rest for now, but yes, she still cooks.

'You punched the door into his head didn't you?'

The court is now played a piece of audio in which Amber Heard can be heard telling Johnny Depp she hit him, but didn't punch him. She says: "I didn't punch you babe." They then argue about the bathroom door, which Depp says has hit him in the head.

Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez asks Heard: "You said on that recording you hit Mr Depp?"

Heard says: "Yes".

Ms Vasquez says: "You accused him of being a baby?"

Heard says yes, she called him a baby after he hit her and pushed past her while she was barricading the door.

We are played another piece of audio, that seems to be from a little later in the couple's argument about the bathroom door. Ms Vasquez says: "You punched the door into his head didn't you?"

Heard says she did not, but that Depp had pushed the door into her toes, hurting her, and she responded on instinct.

"Depp has maintained that he was the victim, and that he lost the tip of his middle finger when Heard hurled a vodka bottle at him. He then allegedly tried to hide from Heard as she went around the house banging on doors, trying to find him, according to his lawyer."

Hunting him down while he was trying to hide from her and her abuse.
OMG!

At the moment, Mr BenjaminChew is angled facing slightly toward his client, Mr Depp, much as a father figure may do in order to protect their child. It has been difficult watching Johnny's body language today, especially when the tape recordings are being played.

It's as if it hurts today just as much as it did at the time of the incidents.

OTOH, AH refuses to accept responsibility for her actions. I wish it had occurred to me earlier to count or mark the times she has blamed others' testimony' for being erroneous.

‘Many times I had to use my body to defend myself…” that’s how she’ll attempt to sneak her way out of the physical assault charges, I guess.

Yes, she faked a toe smash to get the upper hand then punched the door into his head.
Ugh!

That's a first. Never seen a DEF ATT walk to the lectern while the Prosecutor is standing there and cuts off the recording while it's being played for the jury.

Maybe my eyes deceived me but I swear I thought I saw E reach over and stop CV's laptop (maybe stopping the video)? ETA: Oh maybe E just tapped the lectern in front of CV. Nevermind! But, I have never seen that before!

Hazard a guess at it being every time she speaks and I don't think you'd be far off ;)
