'Depp's star had dimmed'

Asked about her earlier testimony that Johnny Depp had been "the biggest Movie star in the world", his former agent Tracey Jacobs says when he parted company with her agency that was no longer the case.

She says "his star had dimmed". She explains that this was due to "the reputation he had acquired due to lateness and other things... People were talking and the question was out there about his behaviour".

Questioning this witness has now finished.
That was even less climactic than I had expected it to be, lol.

I thought she was at the very least going to opine that she and JD had had a fight over his leaving her, or similar.

as stated by many in the business Hollywood puts up with a lot to make a big box office movie....drug use etc. So that can be an argument in his favor...at this point when it is "abuse" things have really changed even in Hollywood. I would not want to be on this jury.

Absolutely. Those "Pirates" movies made billions for everyone. That buys you a lot of grace with all of those involved; JD IS those movies. That's why my opinion is that the OP-Ed did affect his ability to get work; even Hollywood people consider DV beyond the pale. As least in the face of the "Me Too" movement.

Mandel is one of the people JD sued for money mismanagement, from the TMG. So bear this in mind.

Does JD's team get to cross this witness? or was that the end of his testimony?

Vaping, smoking, eating, almost falling asleep, etc. during these depos…

never seen it before!
These video depos should be shown to law students. Eye-opening.

While I agree with this sentiment in the article:

"I don’t want to think about what this is saying to victims of abuse who are considering coming forward. And regardless of what Heard did or didn’t suffer at the hands of Depp, isn’t the relentless memeing of her a form of violence in itself? Is the pummeling by social media not a type of psychological assault? Are we not witnessing a modern-day witch trial?"

This one not so much:

"Though I’ve felt myself veering toward it, I can no longer “both sides” this. It’s time to draw a line. It’s time to believe women—all women. It’s time to believe Heard. The British courts believed Depp beat his ex-wife. What’s stopping the rest of us?"
I don't believe any of it or agree with any of it. What's happening to AH is happening because she is a psychotic liar, not because of a witch hunt. I hope fake "victims" learn not to try this, and I'm sorry it affects real victims.

Depp would 'vent his anger in an aggressive way'

Johnny Depp's former business manager Joel Mandel is being questioned by Amber Heard's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft.

Describing Depp's behaviour, Mr Mandel says: "[Depp] became increasingly less constrained, less concerned if he was going to upset someone's feelings, just increasingly comfortable with venting in an aggressive way when he was upset or disappointed about something". He says that was from 2010, and increased up until around 2015 when it became very difficult to work with Depp. He says the two "parted company" in 2016.

He confirms Depp "used profanity" during their exchanges.

He also says that from 2010, Depp's spending increased and became more extravagant. He says that necessitated an "incredibly high income to maintain, and when that [income] dropped off, it became untenable". He says he discussed Depp moderating his spending "all the time".

Talking about how much various members of Depp's staff were paid, he says Depp's security team member Kevin Murphy was paid about a quarter of a million dollars per year, while another security member, the late Jerry Judge, was paid $10,000 per day. Earlier in his testimony he says he believes Dr Kipper - Depp's private physician - was paid $100,000 per month.

As far as charity giving, he says Depp gave "some - not very much." He goes on: "I don't recall writing large charity cheques, it was more his style to show up at an event, or lend his name to something, rather than write a cheque."

He says one of Depp's big expenditures was prescription drugs and that there were "periods of time when [fees for prescription drugs] was very high, thousands of dollars a month". He also says over the years he had to pay out money to fix damage to accommodation and hotels Depp had been staying in.

Why did that guys tone of voice change when he was being asked the last few questions? IMO he sounded like he was being deceitful .. reminds me of how people answer questions when being hooked up to a lie detector.

This witness just said he was terminating everyone in his life and she was just along for the ride. I wonder if that was at AH's urging? Too bad his attorneys can't ask about that...or I hope they do.
IDK, but if JD was having money problems, it's not surprising that he'd fire people or he'd change up stuff to make more money.

for AH's team that is why they are using depos. Most of these witnesses could have been subpoenaed. AH's team picks out exactly what is played. This makes for a very strange trial and has to be noted by the jury

I agree.

From the article: "Is the pummeling by social media not a type of psychological assault? Are we not witnessing a modern-day witch trial?"

That would be No.

we are seeing the pummeling by social media because people better informed about all the facts of this case are outraged and find disgusting the sickening, narcissistic things this woman and her entourage have done to JD

After all of these depos…still no one has seen Depp physically abuse Heard.

….except for what Whitney said, Heard’s sister, which imo is questionable

According to courtroom analysts on Twitter, the jurors are checking out. I wonder if they'd be more engaged if still waiting for AH's testimony, but they have checked out because they heard all they needed to hear from AH.

Per courtroom insider - one juror is straight up napping.

I do believe there were a great deal of financial issues. I don't believe that is because JD's "star was dimming"

I believe it had more to do with spending excessively and I believe much of that was a direct result of AH bringing her entourage in to live, eat, and party, lots of partying, all on JD's dime. There was literally a woman living there for three months in one of his penthouses he had never met and had NO CLUE was living there???? But HE was the scary guy because he told her to get the H out?

Agreed.

And if there was a ''modern day witch trial'' it began when AH made these accusations to the media - against JD. MOO

Edit - added initials.

That just about sums up the defence portion of this trial

if that is true then judge needs to deal with it.

As I mentioned previously, I would not consider any of the video depositions as credible or reliable witnesses. As far as I'm concerned, their testimony is moot.
