Then she can't be deemed to be a hunter.

She used to hunt. Over the past few years, she would go out with a group of hunters and help herd the deer. Call it what you will. Maybe I should have called her a hunter's helper? The point being, she was familiar with the woods behind her workplace.

May I ask why Kelly stopped hunting?

  • #323
She didn't want to shoot/hurt the animals.

It does not matter to me whether Kelly was gay, straight, bi or asexual. However, that sort of information can shed light on possible suspects and motivation.

I could see some twisted plot (I'll spare the details) where if an interested suitor of one gender (does not matter which) got bent out of shape learning she was interested in the other.

She didn't want to shoot/hurt the animals.

Yet she flushed them out so others could? Somehow I don't understand the logic. But that's just my perception.

I am not anti-hunter - My husband was a hunter and trapper and both of my sons and 1 daughter hunt.

Somehow it made sense to her, but I don't understand it either.

I agree about the "elephant" in the living room...

keeping back info like that can make all this effort to get facebook and flyers out useless...someone may "know" something but dismiss if, not realizing that it might be important *(ie, seeing her with another woman, or maybe some "macho" guy had a "problem" with her at the gym etc)

I think that most of us are not judgmental about these victims..a victim is a victim...but if you don't have the info how is the "public" supposed to be out there looking??
it woudl be better to just be open from the start
or else you are wasting time and maybe hindering finding answers

I think that in cases like this they need to put all the info out there so as to not lose possible clues JMO

She may have still had a bow, but she went to spend time with co-workers, with my niece and to be in nature. She didn't want to shoot anything.

This is interesting. Did she ever see one of her coworkers shoot an animal? If so, how did she react?

I have an aunt that bow hunts. I would never go with her because I can't stand to see an animal hurt. I have trouble with cleaning out the spiders. Anything bigger does me in. I find it puzzling that Kelly would go "hunting" but only wanted to be in nature?

Kelly helped "process" the deer that my niece had killed. I didn't want to be anywhere near the house while they were cutting up the thing or while they were cooking it, too gross for me.

The reason I have posted information is so that the people reading this thread and trying to process the information seem genuinely concerned about working through the facts of the case. I am also concerned about Kelly's whereabouts and I hope I have been able to clear up some misconceptions. I do, however, wish that people had been more considerate about posting my personal information.

While it does not make much sense to me I don't think that is terribly important in the context of her disappearance. I have never hunted but I am not anti-hunting so long as the hunter eats what they bag.

If she became an animal lover, I doubt she would go with people on a hunt. Besides the kill there is the issue of field dressing and I can't imagine an animal lover casually observing that.

I think, however, the issue of whether she still owned any hunting weapons and if so, are they accounted for are fair questions worth looking into.

As far as I know, Kelly did not own any firearms. The hunting reference was only to raise awareness that Kelly had a familiarity with the woods behind her workplace.

Flushing was a common practice with my husband and children that on certain parts of the farm they were hunting one or two would be in position to shoot while one or two would walk up and around and come in beside or behind where deer would be bedding. Deer would be startled and would (hopefully) run in the direction of whoever was in the position to shoot. Then the situation would be reversed (by moving to another part of the land) so the others would be able to also get their chance to get a deer.

Hi Concerned...

any info on possible love interests for Kelly...dates....??? that has been asked here
and I think it might be a LOT more relevant than hunting JMO

this has the "feel" of a stalker....could that stalker be a rejected angry man..or even a woman??

No love interests that I would be aware of, but I haven't had any contact with Kelly since August of last year.

Logical - you may feel that this bit of hunting talk is not relevant and you are entitled to your opinion.

However, there are some on this thread who are interested in knowing who Kelly was as a person. What were her habits, how did she think about things, etc.

IMHO that is as relevant as knowing about dating and love interests.

Let's assume for a moment that Kelly is gay.
Theory: IMO.
She is dating several people.
There is a jealous person among her new friends.
This person obtains a key to Kelly's house, either given or stolen.
She hangs out at Kelly's when she isn't home.
Maybe Kelly broke up with her....maybe Kelly had said do not come around the house, do not come around my work.
And then Kelly sees
her at work.
Would that have made Kelly take off running?
If so, there should be a plain trail leading back to this person.

Security cameras. Co workers. Neighbors. Fingerprints at the house.
DNA from the goggles and gloves.

I hope Kelly is alive, but I have a bad feeling.

If something did happen to Kelly because of her sexual preference, she would not be the first...far too many hate-filled people out there.

  • #339
As far as I'm concerned, and unless proved otherwise, I believe the question of sexual orientation has been answered.

Often no answer is the clearest and most direct answer one can ever give.

JMHO.

Thanks for confusing me even more
