Thanks Shutter! Be careful! And I'll chip in for your bail money if you end up in the pokey! LOL!

Wow, looks like you guys been busy while I've been gone. Had the sudden need for a road trip, so I'm now in Virginia, about five miles from Kelly's last seen. I have the camera. If there's anything specific you want to see, let me know and I'll get over there tomorrow before I leave. I won't guarantee anything right now except that I could potentially go to jail for tresspassing under the circumstances, but I'll see what I can do. I'll check in with you later tonight.
Whatever you do Shutterfly, please be careful!

I know a good lawyer if you need one ... just let me know. We'll get that trespassing charge dismissed asap!

I'm so glad to hear you've made it to Kelly's neighborhood. I'd like to see any photos you deem appropriate. How about one from behind BPA, at the end of Ruffin Mill Road? I keep hearing the area has changed so much since the 2007 Google photos. Or you can always check out that area that shows up on Google as bright blue water on the other side of the Appomattox.

Please be careful, whatever you do. I can't wait until you report back to us what you have seen.

ETA: Could you also take a photo of the bridge that leads down to the river, the one Kelly was supposed to have crossed following her sprint past the lobby?

I don't live in Virginia and I'm not really familiar with the Richmond area. But for those that do live in that area, has any of the following been considered?

From either where Kelly worked at her place of employment or from where Kelly lived at her home, are there any other body of waters within 30 minutes of either location?

I'm thinking about lakes, ponds, and reserviors on public property that have public access.

What about parks within 30 minutes of either location? Are there any parks that have trails, such as bike, hiking, or walking trails? Are there any hills or ravines in the area?

If the search results around the river and near her place of employment are nil, then perhaps other search areas may have to be considered.

Hi. Been here before with the Biehl case but forgot all info.
I've read all of the posts, even the old ones that were locked, to catch up. I feel that if suicide (although pretty much ruled out thru posts) was the case, remains would have been found. One thing I can add that I don't think has been mentioned already is that the river flooded the last week of January. About 20'.

Also wanted to say, Shutterfly and Joseph D, I'm in the area as well and am willing to help with the search. Snow will not hold me back.
Please let me know what I can do to help!

Nerosleuth, please see the park mentioned in my post about 2-3 posts up. The family (AnotherNiece) asked about it. It appears to have lots of marshy areas, through which narrow boardwalks run--at the link I've attached, you can see an image of the area. The boardwalks don't appear to be particularly wide.

This park is to the north of BPA and not far at all.

Joseph d., has this area been searched as far as you know?

Truthsleuth, the website about the Point of Rocks Park was interesting. What caught my attention from that website was the term waymarks and waymarking.

Now this is just a thought here.

Did Kelly own a hand held GPS unit? Did her car have a GPS unit? Was Kelly involved in the geocaching hobby?

Waymark is the latitude and longitude of a location in a GPS unit. Geocaching is using a GPS unit to go on a treasure hunt. Here's a link that explains geocaching.

If Kelly had a GPS unit, her GPS unit may have stored tracks and waymarks.

I'm still interested in what someone said earlier (sorry, I can't remember off the top of my head) about the Coleman guy that was missing and then turned himself in... Preston Coleman I think. Granted, there is an age difference, and sexual orientation is of difference, but still, you never know the connected relationships.
Just very coincidental that his car was found near Appomattox Park which seems very close - (13-14mi?).
It's all speculation... something I'd like to explore if someone hasn't already. Joseph D?? As well as the others listed - rso, etc.

This is just so sad to me. Someone close to me has been sending emails and prayer requests etc as they played ball together... It's just so upsetting and I want to do what I can to help out.

Yep, Preston Wayne Coleman. If anyone needs background information on this, MBLover's post on the topic has lots of good info. It's post #238 on Kelly's #1 thread. It's certainly worth a look.

I wish I had an answer to your questions, but unfortunately, I don't. Family or friends might, maybe they can answer you here.

I posted about Point of Rocks Park because one of Kelly's nieces was asking about it--and you wanted to know of local parks. Another park in the area is Appomattox Riverside Park, to the south of BPA, and where Preston Wayne Coleman's vehicle was found. (See posts surrounding this one as well as #238 on the first Kelly thread.)

Sorry I can't help more.

Thank you fhc and truthsleuth. I'm glad I'm not the only one that found this odd.
The timing is off, he disappearance for several days was never really acknowledged, his car was found within close proximity (<15mi) etc.
Again, all speculation. But maybe he was connected to a niece, another niece, just another niece, etc...? (sorry, I forget all that were mentioned, and yes, I know that they, or most of, were from PA). Maybe KellyCat gave the niece advice and he didn't like it...? Maybe she ran to ran to the river b/c there was a threat to said niece...?

Just ideas of what's formed and has been floating in my head while reading all of the posts.

I thought perhaps you, MBLover, Nerosleuth, and others might want to see where Coleman's vehicle was found in relation to BluePrint Automation, Kelly's workplace.

First image: Vehicle was found at Ferndale Avenue near Matoaca bridge.
Second image: Note distance and landscape from Ferndale Avenue/Matoaca bridge and BluePrint Automation.

It's an interesting connection to look at. JMHO. Click on the thumbnails below.

ETA: Third image is more accurate depiction of distance from where Coleman's vehicle was found to BPA.

I've read all of the posts -- I think. I'm not sure why we're suggesting parks, and I'm not sure how far distance wise you folks are looking at, but might I suggest Pocahontas State Park? If you're looking at Appomattox Park, Pocahontas is worth a look too.

Being from the area, it doesn't SEEM to me that Kelly and Preston would be connected. I only say this because I know both areas well. They are opposite sides of town, really. Different demographics and other things of that nature. Chester is closer to Richmond -- Dinwiddie closer to Petersburg. I've frequented both areas... I went to high school with kids from Chester and Dinwiddie. Matoaca High School to be exact -- if you sleuth the area much, you'll run across it.

I want to add I believe Dinnwiddie to be one of the creepiest places on earth. On namus they had 2 UIDS from last year on there both Males from the best I remember and they have Randy Marion missing.

The kids out of Dinwiddie are an even mix of "rednecks" and "gangsters." I say that with as little stereotyping as possible... it's simply what I know.

Most of them drive pick pick-up trucks with deer racks and listen to rap/hip-hop music. They are an interesting crowd. I have a lot of friends from Dinwiddie. I go camping with my friends in Dinwiddie along Lake Chesdin when I'm in town.
