Dear Posters:

You may PM each other all you want to.

However, there is to be NO discussion of PMs or PMing on the forum. That is against TOS.

Thanks,

Hoppy
ok since I am new to this...WHAT is PMing?

Hmmm, and we were just told not to talk about __ing by hoppy. :) So, how about this? Go to the FAQ in the menu at the top of this or any page, click FAQ, type the two-letter _ _ (you know what, lol) in the search box, and you'll get all the info you want.

Whew, I just navigated some dangerous waters for you, beltingitout!

ummm let's see...since I am new to this, my navigational skills are lacking. If I knew what PM stood for, I wouldn't have asked. Luckily someone that knew, sent me a message telling me. If I knew at the time where the FAQ's, etc., were listed, I probably would have already read it and probably wouldn't have had to ask such a question. Thanks for pointing out where the FAQ's are at.

BTW, I did not discuss anything that was put into a PM..I just asked what it stood for.

IF this happens to turn into me getting a TOS violation, so be it! No one else said anything about it until now!

I was just teasing you, beltingitout. I guess I really didn't do a very good job of communicating that.

I'm quite sure you won't be getting a TOS violation, and I won't either.

I hate to repeat myself but does anyone know if Kelly brought her lunch to work the day she disappeared?

I don't think that was ever discussed, if I remember correctly. How do you think that relates to the case? ... Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Marine Mom,

Yes, I have the DeLorme state map books myself. It is better than the Rand McNally Map as it shows all the main highways and back roads in each county of a state.

When I was talking about Kelly possibly using a GPS unit for various types of outdoor activities, I was talking about personal activities after work or on her off days. I agree with you that every workplaces are weapon free zones.

I recall an incident from an online news article that happened last year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There was a college kid who was walking one night in his neighborhood when he was robbed by two men. They took his wallet and cell phone. This college kid went home and reported the robbery to the police. He also went online on his home pc. Since his cell phone had GPS, he was subscribed to some kind of a service where he was able to track where the robbers with his cell phone. Using the info from the GPS of his cell phone and Google street view, he told the police where the robbers were. The police went to a local diner, found the robbers there and arrested them. Oh, you should have seen the stunned look of the robbers faces from their jail booking photos.

The point I’m trying to make here is that while technology can be used for good purposes, it also can be used for bad purposes. Something to think about here.

Suppose that someone who was stalking Kelly was very tech savvy? If that person knew her cell phone number, it is possible that she could have been cyber tracked and not even be aware of it.

If this is the case, then it would have to be someone that Kelly knew who would know her cell phone number rather than from a complete stranger.

After seeing Shutterfly's great pictures and the way that delivery driver just pulled up unexpectedly, could Kelly have been a victim of a 'Blitz' attack? Like Morgan H., at the wrong place, at the wrong time, a crime of opportunity? In that industrial area, there must be many delivery drivers. No doubt LE has checked out those that delivered to BPA, at least I hope so. But what about other close businesses & their couriers, etc?

Does anyone else think this scenario is a possibility?

I can't speak for knowthings, but I imagine there could be a couple ideas behind that question.

First, if Kelly normally brought her lunch with her, but did not do so that day, perhaps it could indicate that she knew she wouldn't be there for lunch that day.

If she did not have her lunch with her, it might also have suggested that she'd need to go out and grab lunch elsewhere at some point, or even that she possibly had lunch plans with someone.

On the other hand, if she did bring her lunch, and it was still sitting where she usually put it, that would seem to indicate that she did plan on being there to eat it, and definitely didn't anticipate not needing lunch that day.

These are just my thoughts!

Good question, fhc. It doesn't seem impossible to me to imagine that something like this might've happened.

Hopefully, this is something LE is taking, has taken, or will take a look at.

I can definitely see your point and had thought along similar lines myself.

Apparently some couriers/delivery drivers can set their own schedule sort of? One of my neighbors works for Fed-Ex and he and his delivery truck are at home the better part of the day...I've found that strange.

So I can see the possibility of a driver parking where this one did (that Shutter took a pic of) to do paperwork, eat lunch, re-arrange packages for delivery, etc.

Or I could see anyone else parking there - and eating a quiet lunch or going for a walk...or for waiting and watching...

Shutterfly, a great big thank you for taking the photos of the area where Kelly worked at. After looking at the photos, I have some observations to share with everyone.

As for myself, I work in an industrial area building that is similar to the building that Kelly worked at.

From the front windows, you probably saw a lobby with a few chairs and maybe a desk or a partition where a receptionist or security guard would sit. And you saw a door that would probably take you to the production floor. You won't see the production floor from the front door or anywhere else from the outside as it's shielded out of view. My workplace is that way.

A couple of questions about where Kelly worked at.

Did you see any card key reader outside the door or inside the lobby. A card key reader is where you use your id badge to enter the building.

Was the front door open or locked when you approached it?

Did you see any security cameras inside the lobby or anywhere outside the building?

Were there any cars in the parking lot where Kelly worked at when you took the pictures?

From what I see in the pictures, unless I'm totally wrong, it looks like they only had one shift where Kelly worked at. So once everybody went home, that area would really be a deserted place.

I also wonder if the retention pond has been dragged. I just can't help notice the concrete culvert in the retention pond.

Oh, I think this scenario is quite possible, very much so.

From the photos that Shutterfly took, the parking lot looks to be a distance away from the front lobby. There is an incline. And a large vehicle in the parking lot could block the view of a small vehicle in that same lot.

And if no one was in the lobby and the view was blocked, then it's quite possible that nobody saw what transpired in the parking lot. :(
