Respectfully snipped:

That's an interesting line to include in this...or maybe I'm reading more into it than I should?

At least it appears someone has decided that this isn't a suicide...

Being from Chesterfield and seeing these commercials on TV all the time, I can tell you that they use this line for every crime. It's rarely a missing person, but often a criminal who is hiding. I think they have the commercials scripted and replace relevant terms with applicable info.

I am just glad to see it.

Something hit me today during my drive home.

Kelly was not alone on her walks recently. So there is no way for a stalker to have known she would be alone that day at that time alone unless they did lead her out. Which points away from stanger abduction.

Crime Solvers has just sent out a Press Release regarding Kelly being missing. It doesn't really give any new information but does say this "If you have information on Catalano’s whereabouts, information about an unsolved crime or wanted person in Chesterfield County or the city of Colonial Heights, you may call Crime Solvers at 804-748-0060, submit a tip online from crimesolvers.net, or Text-A-Tip by texting “tip699” plus your tip to 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S). All three methods will keep you anonymous. If your tip helps solve a case or catch a fugitive, you would be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.

Friends and family of Catalano have created an additional reward fund, whereby tipsters who provide information leading to the location and safe return of Kelly could earn an additional reward up to $10,000".

I think this is great, a lot more people will learn about kelly's disappearance, let's hope that more info will start to come in, especially with a cash reward being offered, money talks!

Thanks for the article Soul. I thought the last part was very interesting

Victims deny the probiem, which instantly puts them at a disadvantage. Then they try to bargain with their stalkers, thereby establishing a dangerous precedent of allowing him to control their actions. Anxiety sets in. Never knowing when or where he's going to turn up or what he's going to do next, they can think of little else. They start to short-circuit mentally and emotionally. Exhaustion follows, along with profound depression. Then self-esteem starts to disintegrate. Victims start to blame themselves. Eventually, they get angry, so angry that they're ready to do almost anything to get the stalker out of their life.

That article sent a chill down my spine, especially the part about the "KEY".

That article sent a chill down my spine, especially the part about the "KEY".

YIKES. Chilling, yes.

Also, one of the other points was: Killing or injuring pets. I have often thought that perhaps one of the things that got Kelly outside quickly was a threat of the nature, "I have your cat _____ (cat's name), and if you don't get out here and talk to me to settle this, I'm throwing her in the river!" A threat such as that wouldn't have to be true to get me to leave my "machine running" and get out there as quickly as possible. Again, all of this points to my belief that this crime was personal, not committed by a stranger.

Truthsleuth.....I agree...this has such a "personal" feel about it

Maybe a threat to a pet...or someone called Kelly and said "your pet was hit by a car"..

or...called her with some other "emergency">>
"your friend was in a car wreck"..."your house is on fire"...whatever

At that time of day, in that small industrial complex where probably mostly men worked...I can't imagine a stranger predator finding that a good "hunting ground"..
there would be no way to think that an attractive woman would come running out of there at that time

I feel someone somehow had to lure her out of there..I think she got in their vehicle "I'll take you there"....and from there?? who knows??? If she just went and jumped in a vehicle that would not leave much evidence or much to search for there

Maybe the perp had a gun?? or used a taser???

Kelly didn't call and cancel her walk with the two guys at 11-30, she thought that she would be able to make it, somebody contacted her, maybe saying they had a gift for her or wanted to talk to her on this important anniversary, "if you don't come out, I'm coming in" Kelly runs out of the building and gets into the car, a gun is pulled on her, she hands over her phone which is subsequently turned off, the car door is locked and that's it.

This sounds very plausible. Can we brainstorm about how LE would not see anything on her/BPA phone records if someone did call her?

My first thought on the phone situation -

It wasn't an unusual # that was registered on her phone. It was someone who had called her frequently or maybe even just a once every couple of weeks thing (but had a pattern that didn't stand out).

We don't know what LE knows about the phone situation, also it could have been pre-arranged as has been discussed previously.

I have been thinking that Kelly would not have wanted to get into that car, person could have held up a gift bag to make it look innocent, also I wonder if there were any compromising photos that were being used as threat? Do we really know if this was an important date in their relationship?

I think I remember that CVA said back when she posted that that date was a significant one.

I am not even hinting that she would be involved.
Just saying that is what I remember.

Bumping for Kelly

I would think that if it was such an important date and Kelly was so upset about it, that she would have taken the day off, instead she came into work, she intended to go walking with her friends! I think that date was more important to someone else, they could not stand the fact that Kelly was moving on, had got a promotion, bought a new car, "life was good", some people are evil!

I think you guys are talking about the date/anniversary mentioned in this post

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - VA-Kelly Catalano, 40, Chesterfield MSG 15 Jan 10

"Yes, the January date was an anniversary that we celebrated throughout our relationship. As far as I know, Kelly had not make a single effort to contact me since August. Specifically, no calls, texts, emails, smoke signals, letters...etc. She also cut ties with my mom on the same day, via e-mail."

That tells me that Kelly had had enough and was moving on.

The family is trying to get the press release sent out to as many media people as possible. If you know of someone that could help out, please pass it along.
