Biology student turned a pelvis over to professor, who in turn, contacted Loudoun County SO. The student stated that he and other biology students uncovered the bone during a "dig" in either Berkley Township or Bass River Township, NJ. Loudoun SO, unable to repatriate the remains, have submitted the bone for anthropological study and DNA analysis to UNTCHI.

You'd think people would remember exactly where they found someone's remains, unless they held onto them for a while.

What does DNA analysis mean here exactly?
If the body was found in 2005, NamUs created in 2015, but nothing other than the sex was known, I'm guessing the analysis didn't reveal much.

This is another case for genetic geneology, Wanda Herr's remains consisted of her cranium and a few bones, and she was identified.

Or they found them someplace where they weren't supposed to be digging...

I would be surprised if her body had decomposed to just a pelvis in only 11 years but I searched Namus for cases in Louden county between Jan 1st 1900 to January 1st 2005 and she was the only person who came up. The place she disappeared from was a 14-18 minute drive away, but she left on foot, so if I had to guesstimate, probably around a 45 mins - an hour long walk away.
