I feel like landfill is the most likely option. He was seen throwing bags into trash right?

I have thought that from the beginning. Sadly, too much time has passed. All trash pickup in that area goes to a transfer station before going to a landfill. Tracking all that now and finding anything would be nearly impossible imo. I’m holding on to hope that they have something significant that just hasn’t been released yet.

"We continue to search for her," he said. "We want to find her." However, when asked if there was any possibility that Mamta could still be found alive, Lugo expressed a heartbreaking reality: "I don't believe so."

As the investigation progressed, authorities obtained surveillance footage showing Bhatt allegedly disposing of items, a detail that further strengthened their suspicions.

"How can somebody do that? How can somebody do that to the mother of their kid," Chief Lugo asked, visibly moved by the brutality of what he and his officers believe happened.

Sorry this is all MOO and adds nothing to the conversation. So many times we see the perp (usually husband sometimes boyfriend) do their expected plea in front of the cameras and some of these guys are good liars but most are bad. This guy…every picture you see of him he looks like he’s smelling something bad stuck on his upper lip. His body just will not let him lie. He’s guilty as hades. Poor Mamta.

I'm going to guess that this "non-resident, out-of-state witness" who requires a Nepalese interpreter will be her mother. MOO

Mamta Bhatt’s mother, Gita Kafle, and brother, Mahesh Kafle, arrived stateside in October and plan to stay for the foreseeable future.

Volunteer and Mamta Bhatt supporter Melissa Barton told InsideNoVa both family members will continue caring for Mamta’s 1-year-old daughter, Neema.

“Their visas are still good,” Barton said. “They are still in the country with the baby, and they are still taking care of her. [Mahesh] has put in for citizenship to stay here permanently to raise her. Right now, there is not a status update as to when [Gita] is going to return to Nepal, but for now, she’s staying.”

Naresh Bhatt, the Manassas Park man accused of murdering his wife Mamta Kafle Bhatt and hiding her body, appeared in court Friday morning for a hearing.

The hearing addressed the Commonwealth's request to summon three out-of-state witnesses, including two local reporters and a resident of Pennsylvania.

There was no objection from the defense on that motion and the judge granted the request for all three witnesses.

I don’t know…… maybe one needs to try and see a possible ‘silver lining’ with this? AFAIK her remains have still not been located. So maybe this additional time in jail will not add resolve to the matter. Maybe the suspect or someone will eventually say or tell something to aid in locating her. And it also gives authorities additional time to build their case against NB. MOO

"Kimberly A. Irving, a Prince William County Circuit judge, appeared initially baffled by the defense’s request for the lengthy delay, but she ultimately granted the continuance after the prosecution acquiesced, citing its busy schedules."

I bet the family of Mamta also has busy schedules that they will put on hold in order to feel some sort of justice. But yeah let's keep delaying and causing the family pain. *eyeroll*

I bet that makes Mamta's family feel good, oh we're just too busy for you at the moment. I do hope it's not racism.

Wow… I cannot believe it’s already been A YEAR. Hoping this delay gives enough time to find more evidence of what happened to poor Mamta :(
