Richmond Circuit Court Judge Margaret Spencer scheduled Washington’s trial for June 4–6 following a hearing on Tuesday. He will be tried as an adult.

It was along the tracks that residents discovered Marty in the evening hours of May 1 last year, his head battered with a 60-pound tree limb.

He had multiple skull fractures, a fracture of his jawbone, and massive lethal injuries to his brain, Richmond prosecutor Mary Langer told Richmond Circuit Court Judge William Marchant, who convicted Washington on Wednesday of second-degree murder and sentenced him to 40 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.

Washington saw charges of strangulation and malicious wounding, involving Marty’s sister, dropped as part of a plea agreement because of the impact that testifying would have had on her.

Why in the world was any of this *&^%^*('s sentence suspended??? he already got off way too easy by not being charged & tried for the sister's rape/assault.
