I update my post above, but wasn't sure everyone would catch it, I can confirm Meghan's boyfriend was close in age, and by all accounts a very sweet young man. They appear to have had a typical "teenage romance."
I am not posting his name out of respect for his privacy.
Just wanted to mention it as a way of excluding his involvement, imo

If you don't think it's necessary I won't. It was public, like you said, so he has to know people will see it. He's totally innocent in this I'm sure, and I know his heart is broken.

Yeah. I just thought since someone posted that they weren't familiar with that neighborhood (I think mmmbrownies) I would post a picture of the type of house there (sometimes that helps in giving an idea of what type of neighborhood it is).

Sorry. I'm just obsessed with LE finding out who did this and thought that anything at all might help you guys in sorting this all out.

Yeah that was me that didn't know. It's Ghent though, I haven't spent alot of time in Norfolk really, mostly Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and now I live in Portsmouth. Ghent is a nice area though, alot of it's historic.

I have a blended family and I never refer to my "bonus sons" as "step"

I came from a blended home. My Dad raised us as his children. We didn't have his name but we had his heart. To the world he was our "step" Dad but to us he was our Dad. My Dad passed away several years ago. We still miss him.

I think they are waiting for results from whatever was found in the storm drain. I think they found it on a normal sweep, too. It would make sense for them to start in the home and work out from there to find evidence. While it may not even be related to this case, it does take time to get it processed to determine if there is a connection.

LE is doing what they always do. They won't comment. However, I think her friends might very well know what happened in the past to Meghan and are speaking out on it. Good for them, if it is true! However, if it is proven later on not to be the case...then we will all have to take our lumps over the assumption a molestation occurred. I have thought that all along- Im sure by now youhave read many locals blogs on this, and 99.9% of her friends all have the same info- I will feel horrible if what I have posted is not true about the molestation, but THAT many people cant be wrong. SOmething happened to that sweet girl last year,and SOMETHING spooked her out enough to be scared out of her wits that day. God BLess her family and friends. I hope they catch this and send him to Leavenworth (which btw, I hear has NO luxuries like TV, radio, mags, books,etc.). I may be wrong since I obviously have never been there, but hopefully the rumors are true!!!! :behindbar

Where are you seeing all this information? I cannot even find him on her myspace page which is odd since he should be right there either first or second "friend"?! Can you pm it to me?

Her obituary doesn't mention her biological father.

Is this only her online obituary that fails to mention him or is it what is listed in the local newspaper?

If her bio father was not an active part of her life or if her stepfather adopted her...I could see the reason for excluding him.

Did you notice the last post on the truecrimeblog website? Someone who claims to be a neighbor, or at least live close by, says they should continue to check the step-father as well as the biological father.

I don't know if it's actually a neighbor or just someone trying to start something.

Sorry, I didn't notice. However, they will rule everyone out systematically...according to the evidence and their statements/alibis. They will be looking at her immediate family first.
