Indigator said she was not released early that day, but some of the school was...correct?

It was also mentioned she went to a neighbor's to borrow mac and cheese for lunch (I can't find an article on that yet). I find it odd she would do that. What time did she go home and when did she visit the neighbor's house?

I find it especially troubling she kept asking various people to allow her to go home with them and no one took her!!

I don't see why putting the COD here would be a problem, but that is just me I guess. If everyone around town already knows! (I heard it was a stabbing early on.)

I think it makes a difference in who the suspect could be by the violence associated with the COD.

If she was molested on base...it would explain a lot. Family is allowed on base and perhaps her biological father is the perp or someone closely related to him. This would make it an issue for NCIS immediately.

I thought I already did...Yes, SS, that is what EVERYONE has said- In fact, havent heard too many versions, which makes be believe that they are more on the true side. That many people cant get together to come up with the exact same version. I never saw anything weird, except mention of an uncle. It came from a topix post, but I cant much in that.

I dont think the marine is dad. They seem to be two different people, possibly friends. I saw that more than once about them being friends.

BTW- I think I posted already, but step dad is not involved. I dont about legally, but he has been cleared in the eyes of the local posters

I am confused by the school times, and waiting for clarification- I know she had a min day, but dont know where those other times came from- Maybe a reg day? Anyways, yes a neighbor did let her borrow some mac and cheese at noon and she was found at 4. The neighbor watched her walk home.

Yes, Im sure those poor girls are running those last requests for her to go with them a lot unfortunately. I dont understand, one of the articles I posted say she was visably shaken, yet no one let her come over? What a shame.

Welcome to WS Jazzewile. Im sorry to hear about this young girl . :blowkiss:

One would have to assume if she was antsy being there alone, she was making phone calls. LE should be able to narrow down the timeline further.

I wonder if this is the same neighbor who saw the stepfather come home at 4:00 pm when she was found? I find it curious that a person that "involved" in the neighborhood activity didn't see anything or anyone else. It also tells me that the neighbor knew she was there alone and what time the stepfather was due to come home, too.

Should we assume the neighbor who loaned the mac and cheese has been cleared? Guess that is taking it to the extreme, even to wonder about it.

I'm too cynical, maybe. With little new info, it is easy to conjecture about everyone, even the neighbor.

Did any school official see Meghan's distress? I haven't seen any reports that even mention her school.

Hi windrower- Welcome to WS! :blowkiss:

I actually read an article and saw news footage with some of her friends inerviewed. I think this is it, but pardon me if not. I have looked at so many of these, cant keep em straight. I looked for any mention of a teacher or official, and didnt see anything. Just read multiple accounts of friends saying that she was 'visably shaken' and 'trembling'. She asked a few people if she could go home with them. They even said that usually it was the other way around with Meghan asking them over. This day she was asking to go to their houses an they all had plans.

Welcome to WS, Windrower! :)

I don't think we should assume that the neighbor has been cleared until LE states they have been. In cases like this...until LE rules you out...you are essentially still a potential suspect. I don't think it is taking it to the extreme to consider that the neighbor knew she was home alone, probably knew the parents' schedule, and possibly had the opportunity. They definitely should be looked at in this case.

I just feel so bad that no one including her parents seemed to realize she was frightened and did not want to be alone that day. It also makes me a bit angry she was simply blown off by people. Bless her heart.

It makes it harder to beleive that her friends/fam didnt came home to her since she was asking EVERYONE at school. I saw a clip of girls, and they said she was asking everyone, but most had rides home or plans due to the short schedule.

They said she was trembling and visably shaken. I wonder why she didnt tell the neighbor? Maybe that was a cry for help?

What would make her be so nervous? If rumors are true:

A- She was due to testify the following day and was nervous. Was she harassed, imtimidated?
B- He just got out and went to get her

I dont agree with the latter since NCIS was involved. If he was just released, would he do more than a year? He would be DUMB to go straight to her home.

Im wondering if he was/is active up to the trial and then will be sentenced? Anyone know how military law would work with a molestation?

If it works anything like rapes of Marine women...it doesn't work well, Chico. Nor does it move swiftly.

Sorry to back trak on this lizzy, but are you saying the hs is so far away she wouldnt get home for 3.5-4 hours after school got out? Or is that the normal time she should have been home? Whoever it was, had to know not only her schedule, but that it was min day at school. I hope her real dad isnt involved. In someof those forums, they state the molester was bio dad's friend and some say she had a shady uncle also-

I am going to re-check some of the better Portsmouth forums for some new info :)

No, I'm not. I apologize for that post being confusing. Usually I'm writing in a hurry. What I was saying is that day was early release. Classes ended at 10:55 a.m. IF Meghan walked home I don't see her getting home until around 11:15. On normal days school lets out around 2:20. Then if walking she would get home probably sometime before 3:00.

The point I was trying to make was did the killer know that she would be getting home early that day? If he did then it's obvious it was someone that knew her schedule or that of the school. If the killer didn't know it was early release did he break in?, did she open the door to him? or was he there since she left for school, waiting?

I heard from someone and I'm not sure if it's true that the step-dad said it wasn't unusual for them to leave the front door unlocked. I would think with Meghan already being nervous she would have locked all the doors.

lizzy, philamena, and any other locals:

Has your news been plastered with this news story? There sure isnt much on line and I have yet to read a printed story that shows LE telling the public to be aware of a possible murderer. Have they made this plea yet? I understand about the rumors (as I read up pn this for 4 hrs yesterday), but where is :

a-public outcry to catch a murderer on the loose
b-LE telling the public to be cautious
c-school girls/boys scared to go to school or stay home alone in fear of a killer
d-her group of friends being nervous that maybe someone is after one of them

Some of those scenarios may overlap eachother, but WHY IS LE BEING SO TIGHT LIPPED????

The answer to these is no, LE hasn't said to be careful there's a murderer out there.
There's been no real public outcry (of course we all want this person found and arrested).
No kids have been afraid to go to school as far as I've heard.
I honestly don't know about her friends being scared.

I think they're being tight lipped and haven't put the community on alert is because they know exactly who did this and are just getting their evidence together. This is definitely not a case you would want to screw up on.

BTW, my friend that works for LE has become tight lipped too. I don't know if she honestly doesn't know anything or if she were told to not say anything.

If she borrowed Mac and cheese at noon then she was released early that day. The only time a student can leave school early is if they're in a program (work) that allows them too. They were taking exams that week and it was early release, 10:55.

New evidence found. Hope the link works. I have to get ready for work.

LB-
it works, thanks.
2 thoughts- they are still processing the house/crime scene which tells me they have no physical evidence as of yet to link anyone to her murder. (the new piece of evidence from the sewer opening notwithstanding)
Note it was small enough to fit in a regular manilla envelope.

The perp was smart enough to get rid of whatever it was and not have it tied potentially to his vehicle, or home, or area where he might live.
