Thanks Lew, I had not seen that. My guess is they did not find anything as they did not impound it or call in CSI

One other thing I was told - if the perp was Navy and pending a sexual assulat trial in a NAVY court he would typically have been restricted to base.

Thanks Lew- After all the research I did, I wasnt able to find anything out about a volvo, therefore didnt mention it. Great sluething!

Another thing, and this is obviously speculaton, but every reports I have read has this man in the navy. When you look at the big picture, Does it really matter what branch he is in? He is military, he alledgedly molested her, and now she is dead.

This happened almost a week ago. That poor family needs some closure. From the sounds of things, they pretty much know who it could be. I hope it is that person, not only so he can pay, but so the community can rest in peace and put some closure on this nightmare.

This is probably a stupid question. But if someone flushed something down the toilet, wouldn't it go through the "sewer/water" pipe?? Could LE have had some idea or checking to see if there had been something flushed away???

  • #165
not stupid, and yes. Depending upon flushing vs. rinsing down a sink drain, it could depending upon where the traps are located in their plumbing system and if they have septic or public sewer, etc..

:blushing: Awww, thanks..Blink and Bucky...for the nice things you said. Hugs~ :blowkiss:

This case has so many obvious avenues to investigate already and yet we are not getting any real information from the media or LE. I hope it means they are quickly closing in on the 🤬🤬🤬 and he/she will be charged soon.

This story now becomes very relavant, and mostly meaning that I would probably not have paid much attention to it had it not been for this case and one over the weekend.

Edit: Fixed link

Any one have a link to the article about the drain and what was found? Or at least what paper it was in?

Everytime I google her, I get the links we already have, DD, and WS- UGHHH!!!

Thanks for the link brownie- and YES, you are giving me the munches :blowkiss:

This looks and may be similar to the one I just posted. I was interested in the finding of the storm drain. I have yet to find one about the volvo. I saw one snippet about finding it, but no details.

SS- Where are you?? You have such great insight!

The link I posted was Virginia lifting the moratorium on executions. At one time VA was #2 in criminals executed in the US second only to Texas. The storm drain story and footage should be on that website somewhere, I'll try to hunt it up and post it.

Edit: Adding the video archive link here. http://www.wavy.com/Global/category.asp?C=110191&nav=menu45_5_1 if you use the slider and go down a bit you'll see it under "Investigators Continue to Work Teen Homicide Case in Portsmouth", if you just hit play you'll get the weather forecast :)

I get the impression that she was trying to hide her fear/anxiety from her parents. I would not be surprised to hear that she may have been threatened or warned by some form and did not share that with them. Maybe that was part of the threat- that he would harm her family?

I agree Blink..not only was she trying to hide her fear from her parents..but she did not even confide that fear to her friends. I base that on the fact the friends only felt she was nervous about going home..not that she had specifically said what was bothering her. Had she confided that in someone she might be alive today. But whatever message and however it was sent surely spooked her. Which says to me it was very crtytic ..no date, time location..but a veiled threat of some sort that really got to her core.

This was quoted in the WAVY paper- I knew that NCIS and LE surrounded the POI house, but thought they caught the 🤬🤬🤬 then. This story says he went to the PD voluntarily and was later released.

SNIP

Police confirms their personnel assisted Portsmouth Police in interviewing a witness sometime Thursday night. Police tell WAVY.com the person came in voluntarily and was a witness, but was never in custody. He left on his own after cooperating with police.

DD- I agree with your post except for the fact that SEVERAL people knew she had been molested and that she was due in court the next day.

You brought up a great point- Maybe he threatened her is she told anyone that he would kill then or even her- Looks like he did the latter.

Before joining WS, I would never think that someone would be dumb enough to do something like this. (if this is who they think it is) After reading literally days of posts, wonders never seem to amaze me. Criminals are dumb.

We have city water. I don't think anyone in this area has septic tanks.

Sorry about posting that I saw a police officer pulling up the cover to the water hookup. You're right it was the drain that's at the curb.

Could the person she was to testify against have someone else do it? and just for show go the police station voluntarily for questioning (thinking it will make him look innocent)?

The neighbor said there is only one person that they can think of that would want to harm her.

I cant wrap around someone so fearful of her testifying that they risk a murder charge to boot. My guess is he is smart enough to know they would come after him first. Again, I think they know who did it, they just have to connect them without margin for error.
