Interesting .....Cheers. I will let you have the last way but in my opinion Jackson targeted children as well as adults and in this crime the evil **** s target in this crime was Jennifer Short. In my opinion he was always going to take her from her house and killed the parents execution style. He was a paedophile in my opinion amongst his other heinous acts. Just my thoughts but in the Keddie Murders in California a young girl was taken from the Cabin. Motive as Dirty Harry Callahan said about Jackson's hero Scorpio he kills because he likes it that why.
Is there any news on the Short's Home Fire lately about what cause it to go in flames ?
Saw in a news clip that they collected a gas container in an evidence bagHmm ... someone said there were other houses around near the Short's Home being burnt down too.
Could have been an Arsonist or it could be something flammable nearby the house.
Good find TCMSaw in a news clip that they collected a gas container in an evidence bag
Not found. I'm not real familiar with this podcast, do they normally remove older cases they've discussed because I cant find a working version of this episode anywhere. It's not even a year old. Did you listen to it... how was it? I've been trying to get caught up on the case in these last few weeks and I wanted to hear their take on it. I did find another podcast about the case from 2016 but it was a bit tedious to listen to."True Crime All the Time - Unsolved" did a podcast on this case.

They apparently only keep about 6-7 months of podcasts posted - either on the website or podcast. Nothing new. BUT it is another chance to get it out to the public. Not found. Exactly. This case needs more attention. Someone knows something. They apparently only keep about 6-7 months of podcasts posted - either on the website or podcast. Nothing new. BUT it is another chance to get it out to the public.
Oh well, it don't sound like I missed much. I've read that those episodes are behind a paywall on stitcher premium. I've seen talk of dna earlier in the thread but haven't seen any indication from LE. What tells me they probably don't was the 2011 (?) article saying they were resubmitting 30% of their evidence to be retested. I think they also spent way too much time and resources on Bowman. It took five years to hear he was no longer suspected and that came from a fbi agent. Some may still be chasing that ghost. I'm not sure they directed the focus early on where it appears it needed to be which was the unknown male who preyed upon JS. That's what it feels like to me.They apparently only keep about 6-7 months of podcasts posted - either on the website or podcast. Nothing new. BUT it is another chance to get it out to the public.
Nice to meet you new to Websleuths , what did you think caused this Murders ?Hello all, I am new to web sleuths, and really only signed up to get more informed on this case. I'm from Bassett, VA, and still live in the area. This case really hits home, and its devastating that they haven't been able to make much progress. With my job, I work face-to-face with a lot of people in our community here. I've actually had several of my clients tell me they have information that the Michael Short was somehow involved in the local drug cartel. This seemed pretty far fetched to me, but in the past few weeks A LOT of indictments have been handed down for several cartel members that have been living in the area. I am not sure that the people who shared this have any credibility whatsoever, but for such a small area, we have a huge drug problem. So, it's definitely worth looking into.
I don’t think anyone knows for sure. I lived less than 10 minutes from the Shorts and I played softball with Jennifer. I didn’t know much about her parents, but I think the information my clients gave me sounded interesting. With our areas reputation, I definitely wouldn’t rule it out that it could be somehow drug related.Nice to meet you new to Websleuths , what did you think caused this Murders ?
I see , is Bassett town settling down okay ? because I just saw all four houses being burnt down including the Short's old home around Oak Level part earlier this yearI don’t think anyone knows for sure. They honestly have not said much about the house burning down publicly which could be because the nursery investigations are still open, but I’m not sure. For a town as small as Bassett, we have a very high crime rate due to the amount of drugs in our community.I see , is Bassett town settling down okay ? because I just saw all four houses being burnt down including the Short's old home around Oak Level part earlier this year
