Trixie you are correct, that was not there this morning!

Not the ending I was hoping for. I'll never understand how anyone could live with themselves after hurting a woman. The thought of doing something like that makes me sick.

My prayers are with the family.

EH is way too close for comfort, but why would he put her where they would think he did it. That is what confuses me. Maybe just immaturity, stupidity, whatever.

Was it really such an awful site? They did not find the body for 3 months! In the beginning I read people saying it was such a miracle the body was found at all!

I just asked- I didn't say it was " fact".
Some of you need to learn forum etiquette.

It has been brought by a few posters. I don't want you to think I was bashing you or your thoughts.

I merely wanted someone to give an idea of how that would have worked. Their reasons as to why this "could" be a theory. Myself, I found it so far fetched...that is why I asked.

who said that they dropped it off by plane? Sigh...Grabbing at straws.

Did anyone see the press conference noon today and hear what Morgan's parents said? Her father said numerous times that he believed she was nearby. He said that the killer did not find this farm by accident. Morgan's mother even said that she may have not even went to concert and died at the farm (she believes that she did not suffer and endure horrible things). Morgan's parents are taking a step and putting more info out there even if the reporters did not ask.

Who is from the Charlottesville Area or Albemarle county. I'm you have thought the same thing. That if she was murdered, she was probably going to be found on a farm. I'm sure people have thought that many times.

I say check undocumented workers/illegal hispanics that may have worked on a surrounding farm and that particular farm. Check any other employees especially young men that had worked on the farm or other farms before and suddenly stopped working there around the time of her disappearance/

Maybe it's just me but I find the theory of Morgan's body being dropped by a plane so unbelievable. If the killer went through all that trouble, I would think that they would done a better to conceal her body so that it was NEVER found. Flying over some random field...pushing her body from the plane. I doubt it. MHO

What are people's thoughts on this? The killer owned a plane? Borrowed one? Dropped the body at night? Day?

I think that someone living near the farm who owns an ATV could probably access that area.

One thought I have. I don't know what kind of tractor the property owner has, but aot of them use the same key. They do not have a differnet key for each one of the same model. I just wonder if the owner was out of town, or if he keeps his tractor away from his home. Maybe the perp used the owners tractor to move the body.

In response to a question from a reporter, Bass said that in 30 years of owning the property, he’s never had a problem with trespassers and explained that the front gate along busy Route 29 is rarely closed.

“The gates are to keep the cows in— not to keep people out,” says Bass. “This is not Glenmore.”

He says there are two houses on his 742-acre farm, a newer one toward the back of the property in which he and his artist wife dwell, and the landmark historic farmhouse which was long rented to UVA graduate students but now occupied by a member of his family.

Except for the main driveway which runs past the houses, Bass noted that his property is surrounded by barbed wire, and the field in which he found the remains of the 120-pound woman would be accessible only by foot or four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Question-- where did the "her body was dropped from a plane" theory originate from?

Thank you, Ladybug. I didn't know anyone else had mentioned this. Sorry to be a disruption.

Actually, my thinking regarding this all goes back to a popular theory a decade ago about JonBenet Ramsey. Due to some ridiculous statements by Patsy that the family always flew without suitcases, just clothing stuffed into black garbage bags ( found at the home on the day the body was found), the theory was tossed around that perhaps John, a licensed pilot with private planes, might have planned to fly over a remote part of CO outside Boulder and dump JBR's body. The 911 calls were too early to allow this to happen, according to the theories. I thought the theory made a lot more sense than their explanations of the lack of packing ( We always stuff our things in garbage bags, then in the plane).

It is possible to fly low and slow enough to shove a body out of the very small right front seat of a small private plane such as a Cessna. Both seats are right up against each other. Very little room.

I agree that an ATV makes a lot more sense and requires a lot less effort.

I have been gone for a while, but this case has not left my daily thoughts.

This saddens me greatly to hear that she was found, and so close to the JPJ.
Being from the area, I surely did assume that if she was found here, it would be in a farm or a vast open area, as there are many around.

I am almost convinced that this had to have been someone that knew of the farm, how large it was, and how to access it.
I hope that investigators are looking into EH, being that he only lives ONE MILE from the location, and that he works in Charlottesville.

I feel as if most people that live in areas such as he does either own or have access to four wheelers or an off road vehicle, it is quite common around this area.

I just want to point out again, as many have, that it is too much of a coincidence that a registered offender lives only one mile from the location of the body, especially one that is a private farm.

If the owner was out of town I don't think the perp would have needed the tractor. After all, if no one was there, he could have taken his good old time dragging her to the final spot without fear of being seen or heard. He also could have driven his own vehicle to the final spot. That's why I wonder too if the owners were gone that night (or one of the nights back then), leaving a chance for this to happen.

Another hinky thing:

I notice that several RSOs in that zip code live on or near Monacan Road. I notice that one of them, initials SAG, works for a landscaper (probably runs the business out of his home since it's the same address). Some of the people the press talked to yesterday were landscapers leaving the property.

Probably just coincidence -- I have no reason to think they were the same landscaping company. But it does make one go :waitasec:

definitely they should look into young men , you know teens that just finished high school and did not continue into higher education. These guys most likely will find a job to do on a farm.

Definitely they should check anyone who may have worked on nearby farms and suddenly stopped working there around the time of her disappearance.

Who are the friends of hers who rode to the concert with her?
Why did she leave when her car was there/
Why was her purse thrown away?
What route did she and her friends take to get to the concert?
I do hope the killer flubbed up and left tons of DNA and clues...

OMG!!! that is scarey. If he is a landscaper then he is at alot of homes.

ETA: meaning this is scarey for residents in the area.

That is a very good idea
FBI is many steps ahead of us though...

i've been following this case from the beginning (metallica fan). so sad.

this new story from the richmond times-dispatch states as fact that she was drinking that night.

http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/news/local/crime/article/BODY271_20100126-234803/320396/

i know there has been a lot of speculation and guessing, but this article treats this as fact. apologies if this has been pointed out before, but i'm wondering why it's being mentioned as a given finally. new info? mistake in reporting?

if this is true, that certainly changes everything. as anyone who's been underage and drinking knows, it's very easy to overdo it by accident. and she could've had something slipped into it, been taken advantage of, etc.

it's all very sad. my condolences to her family and friends.

How far would it be on foot from a side road to park off of? If she didn't weigh much he could have carried her or put her on a tarp and dragged her to the spot..
Quiet car, people asleep or have the tv on and the road isn't visible (spot where he parked isn't visible) it could totally be pulled off.
People aren't as observative as many think. Most people are off in their own little worlds with their tvs, music on, etc. Unless they are paranoid or nosey types who look out the window at every little headlight.. still with the ruralness of that area it's unlikely anyone saw anything.

Who came up with this inane small plane drop idea? The Atlantic is right there, i'm sure they go for an ocean before a cornfield..

Everybody came out of the woodwork now, i'd like to Welcome all new members to Websleuths =)
