I guess the reason I brought up accidental death(there has still been a crime committed no matter how she died) is because of the extreme amount of murky bizarre mystery surrounding all aspects of this entire story. When trying to figure out why this is,I keep coming back to "the friends know more etc. etc." this of course then leads to thoughts about secrecy over drug use and blah, blah, blah all the things we have been saying for months.However-the Harrington family is aware of all known pieces of info. and they say#1- don't blame the friends #2- she was in fact hitch hiking #3 -Morgan is a crime victim. I suppose we must believe those things.

I thought deer season started on Nov 14th?

You are exactly right

http://www.nbc29.com/Global/story.asp?S=11507009

Deer hunting did not start until the 14th of Nov.

ETA: That is for hunting with a gun. If using a bow - it's an earlier start date. And there is a Youth Day as well - Sept. 26

http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/regulations/deer.asp

Youth Deer Hunting Day
September 26
Statewide, except in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties.
Deer hunters 15 years of age and under, when in compliance with all applicable laws and license requirements, may hunt deer when accompanied and directly supervised by an adult who has a valid Virginia hunting license on his person or is exempt from purchasing a hunting license.
Deer of either sex may be taken.
Modern firearms, muzzleloading firearms, and archery tackle can be used, subject to local firearms restrictions.
Adult hunters accompanying youth deer hunters may not carry or discharge weapons.
Blaze orange requirements and exceptions for firearms deer season are in effect (see General Hunting Regulations).
Deer hunting with dogs is prohibited.
Archery Deer Seasons
Early Antlerless-Only Archery Season
During this season only antlerless deer may be taken.

September 5-October 2
In Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties (except on Department-owned lands).
Archery Either-Sex Deer Hunting
Deer of either sex may be taken full season during the early and late archery seasons, unless otherwise noted below.
Only antlered deer may be taken during the early and late archery deer seasons on PALS (Public Access Lands) in Dickenson County.
Early Archery Season

Former Greene Sheriff Morris dead by apparent suicide

http://www2.dailyprogress.com/cdp/n...e_sheriff_morris_in_critical_condition/51585/

It didn't take long for the rumors (not gonna post) to FLY! Some claim a connection that I don't see (not even with the S name) but it was bound to happen..It always does!

ETA--So SORRY for all the previous duplicates I just deleted..WS is acting up for me today..Anyone else?

Unfortunately, suicide is very common among retired LE. I even know someone.

I don't see any connection with Morgan's case. But there's always going to be a few that will grasp at any straws.

My condolences to the officer's family. So sad. :(

Two things to consider in regard to Morgan’s body being found. In Charlottesville the night of October 17th there was a new moon. That means it would be pitch black on the farm where she was found. If someone placed her there that night they would have had to have had some kind of light, flashlights, etc.

Secondly, that date falls during deer hunting season. The farmer, Mr. Bass has said he gave permission to 4 individuals to hunt on his farm last year. His farm is surrounded by other farms which would have had hunters on them. First light for hunting would have been a few minutes after 7 am on the morning of Oct. 18th.

If someone placed the body in the field that night they would need lights, which would make their chances of being seen greatly increased and they would need to be gone by 5:30 am or so as hunters always arrive early to take up their stand (get into place) prior to sunup in order ensure an advantage over the deer.

Maybe the body wasn’t placed there that night. Locals would know all of this which makes me wonder if they waited until after deer season was over and they had a night with some moon light to dump the body. (Assuming the body was placed there at night and by a local, of course)

What about nightvision goggles? If the individual owned a pair (for hunting or whatnot) that would certainly serve the purpose and would not make him visible.

Re: hunting...

ASSUMING, of course, there was anyone hunting on that actual morning. Most hunters have jobs and other things going in their lives. They don't hunt every day. With only 4 hunters given permission to hunt, there's nothing to indicate any of them were there the next a.m.

It's the possibility that the hunters might be there that morning, that the perp may or may not have known for certain. If he erred on the side of caution, he would be out of there before the time starts when the hunters come out.

Try googling morgan harrington farm burnt down
There are multiple links to us and to other sites

Do you have a link to this burned down house you mention?
What do you feel is the connection to Morgan? TIA..

IMO, if the perp were to burn down a house to rid of evidence, he found have left Morgan's body in there instead of a field.
Fire destroys more than 101 days of time.

I thought the house fire occured before the body was discovered? If that was the case then it would have been too much of a coincedence for a connection in my mind. What are the chances that someone would torch the house and the very next day the bosy be discovered?

I also dont think someone returned to the arena to drop off the purse. I dont think anyone committing an abduction would return to the arena. Why wouldn't they just dump it with the body or somewhere else? Would would the motive be for returning it to the arena?

Has it been confirmed that she was hitch hiking, or is that just speculation?

Isn't it illegal to hunt on a Sunday - which the next day would have been?

ETA: Per DGIF site:

http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/HUNTING/regulations/general.asp

It is unlawful to:
Hunt wild birds and wild animals with firearms or other weapons on Sunday, except on licensed shooting preserves. Raccoon hunters may hunt until 2:00 a.m. Sunday mornings.

So there should have been no hunters hunting after sundown on Sat. and not before 1/2 hr. before sunrise on Monday.

MBLover; you are correct, however you can hunt on private land with the owners written consent or land you own on Sundays. The poster below is also correct, long gun (rifle) seasons starts in NOV. I used to hunt with a bow and that's what I was refering to. My mistake, I should have been more clear. Bow season is in during the month of Oct. From about the first of the month up until rifle season.

A very good thought. However night vision is somewhat romanced by television and novels. A decent pair of true night vision goggles is upwards of $4000. A bit much for the majority of us. Yes, you see them advertised for a few hundred dollars but they are Gen 1 or generation one. LE, the military and other search and rescue use Gen 4 or generation four. Big, big bucks!

Nothing has come of it. I'm sure the police have looked into it.

The police have everything under control. They and the Harrington family have more information than we do. . I'm sure they looked into sexual predators, parolees, and recent felons that have served out their terms recently. We just have to trust that everything will be okay during this investigation. In an investigation such as this, there are to be bumps on the road I live in C-ville and get all the updated information as it comes through.

Why aren't there any pictures taken by the group as the got ready to go...arriving...looking at the arena..it is just so weird with cell phones with camera's NOT ONE FRIEND took any pictures of them in front of their car at the concert area.
That to me is just so strange...group of friends snapping pictures would make more sense don't you think...looks like some of the friends would have some pictures of them that day!
If there are any, they have not been posted to my knowledge.

Exactly!
I know the big question for most is "Why did she go outside of the arena in the first place".
That question has not been the biggy for me.....the biggy for me is why haven't we heard of any photos taken?

I'm sure all the friends had either a camera or cameras on their cell phones and yet, unless this is being kept top secret, no leak about any pics of the group together, outside of the arena, nothing.

I went to tons of concerts and for me, taking a picture of the large marque with the name of the band was a big deal. This way when I put the pics in my albums I'd put that pic in first..... have a reference point...which concert it was.

And my adult children seem to find it really fun to take pics during the drive to wherever they are going.
I have been sent tons of pics via email and photo bucket of the group going to an event; concert, camping, to play in the snow, etc........and it never fails there are quite of few of them inside the car, during the drive to their destination.

I'm just in awe if there were pics on cell phones, that it's been able to be kept so secret so far.
If there were no pics taken, I find that really, REALLY odd.

I agree with you about the pictures. It would be very odd if there weren't any. However I don't think LE would release them. They have been very tight-lipped about this investigation. Only slowly (almost methodically) did they release little details here and there. IMO there is NO WAY that LE did not confiscate the groups cameras at the very beginning.

Didn't Morgan have a camera and it's supposedly still missing?
Maybe she was the one who was taking the pics that night until she went missing.
