Found Deceased VA - Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, Charlottesville, 17 Oct 2009 - #15

I haven't visited this case in a while so sorry if this has been answered....is there a POI at this point?

DNA from the location where MH's body was found matched the DNA of the perpetrator of 2005 assault and attempted rape in Fairfax. This person's name is not known.

He is believed to have interacted with MH at some point on the night of 10/17/09, or possibly the early morning hours of 10/18/09, but he isn't necessarily the murderer.

No one has been officially described as a "person of interest" in the media.

No suspects have been named.

Forgot about the necklace. Other pieces of valuable jewelry were found with the body.

The emotional affect is different. In the older version, "Sketch" seems to stare blankly and harmlessly into space; the newer version of his face seems to express contempt. That difference might make him more identifiable; since it probably reflects his personality better.

Why would that be? Most serial killers are remarkable in how ordinary they look. Being evil doesn't mean that you will look evil, nor does looking evil mean that you are evil.

We don't know that Sketch is a serial killer; however, in my opinion, the group that killed her may have also killed other people.

Bundy, the lone "serial killer," represents a unique type.

I pray they are getting close to finding this . I fell in love with Morgan's parents when they were on the radio show and often pray for them. They are absolutely precious people who don't deserve this hell on earth.

A 33 year old caucasian female has been found dead off a trail on Observatory Hill in Charlottesville. She was found last Friday, but little news coverage is taking place. She is said to have died from unnatural causes, but an official cause of death has not been determined yet.

Thanks Harmony2. Looking at this map, it looks like Morgan was walking in the direction of UVA. If she hitched a ride, it could have easily appeared she was being taken in the right direction for some time. She may not have fully understood that her driver had other intentions, gone past the student residence and been on route 29 before she fully realized the ruse. The locals would know better than I, but from the map it looks like the student residence area is on the far edge of the university area, and not far from the open road.

(I know this guy looks white - is described as having a "medium skin tone" and the sketch looks like a light-skinned black guy, but I wouldn't get too hung up on race....the Baton Rouge serial killer & the Buffalo bike path rapist/murderer are two examples of LE & the public being wrong about the wrong race of the perp for a long time).
