That had to be a terrible experience for you. I am glad nothing happened to you. I have always believed fate plays a big part in everything that happens to us. So I really believe nothing bad was supposed to happen to you..other than..of course the being so sick and scared.

The only difference I see in your story and what happened to Morgan is when a date rape drug is used isn't it usually in a smaller setting. Not an arena with thousands of people? I always thought that it was more..boy meets girl in bar..he likes..he knows she is not easy..he slips her one..they go off into the night mostly unnoticed.

I am not of any of these drinking college scenes..just a curious person. Anyway I can't see somebody using a date rape drug in this incidence. Those that travel in the concert scene migh enlighten me. Thanks.

Not in Paris- It seems to be everywhere. I know of at least 5 people this has happened to in bars and clubs, one of them more than once, and myself too. The bars know about it and they tell you to watch your drinks. Some people suspect the bar tenders as well as the patrons. My ex boyfriend actually picked up a girl's drink by accident and it was drugged - these guys saw him do it and made a sound and then when he realised it was spiked and they'd meant it for the girl they rushed out. We had to carry him home practically-on his second beer.

Oh woops, sorry I misread your post :)
Yes it's true I don't think it's the case for MH or for a big huge concert arena!

sadly enough, i have felt it a must to instruct my kids to not even drink from a glass left unattended when they dance at a party. they start having bar and bat mitzvah parties with djs in middle school, so age 12 is not too young to tell them this. they must go to the bathroom with a friend and never go outside. i feel it is important to not make them paranoid, but realistic and safe. most people are decent, but it only takes one...

Hi Everyone!

Yeah, I think the reporter mis spoke. I can't imagine that foul play didnt take place...all the evidence points that way.

So...I am still stuck on this person who said they found a body on FB last night. Does anyone remember what that persons name was? I suppose lots of yahoos out there would make a comment just to get a rise out of everyone...but I just wonder whether that poster lives in Charlottesville.

I've got her poster up at most little live music bars in Northern Virginia...hipefully someone will see it and remember something!

yes, date rape drugs are common in concert settings too. Worked venues of all sorts from small taverns, bars to large concert venues.
I was trained to look for this and help women with getting them help.

Who do they train? I would doubt that the security at JPJ arena was trained. They are nothing but a bunch of lemmings...they didn;t have enough sense to let a young girl, alone, without a coat, back in the arena! I doubt they would've noticed if she had been drugged!

Hi Nervous Nellie. I too am still here. I guess we are about done with the speculating and keep hopeing to hear something. What did you think about the Hippy article. Sorry I could not put the link in right. I had read a few things about this person and just wanted a face to go with it. I read it all and I just don't know.

The part that suprises me the most in this case is the nothing. Nobody coming forward with any stories about Morgan at all. I thought for sure there would be pictures and notes and testimonials from enemies and friends. Its this nothing that makes me say..whats up. Why is everybody so darn quiet. Is there a dark side to Morgan Harrington or is she just a really fine person? I guess...sigh...time will tell.

well, i dont really think the hippy did anything. he seems to be one of those never grow up types and if she did smoke anything he sure looks like he could be the source, lol but then again who the heck knows. even tho the friends seem deceptive i bet if we had the opportunity to hear their side of it - it may make perfect sense - i think that it must since le & family appear to be backing them soooooo that leads to a possible totally separate agenda that everyone was aware of and didnt question until she failed to show up on sunday, and that is the only red flag to le, family & friends. but they cant possibly say no foul play and then go search along the river or in the desolate wooded areas so whoever said that misspoke. sooooo what most likely could the other agenda be? it has to be something somewhere else having nothing to do with this concert. my problem with this theory is that if her parents were in the "know" then why all of the complicated car shuffling? or maybe the car shuffling was not to elude her parents, but someone else that would have some reason to notice where morgans car was or was not - who could that be? i feel as tho the answer is right in front of us.

Wow, thanks for sharing those stories, all you brave honest people. What narrow escapes.

As for foul play -- I always thought that meant there wasn't a crime committed? So things like an overdose, a drunken accident, getting hit by a car while running away, getting lost in the woods and freezing to death would still be possible. I'm not saying it was any of those things, only giving examples of the kinds of things that could still happen without foul play.

The poor family. I don't think I'd be bearing up half this well...

I still believe that the reporter mis spoke when she said police do not suspect foul play...BUT there have been some posts on findmorgan where people theorize about her being hit by a car, while walking on a dimly lit bridge. The person who hit her, may have freaked out and dumped her body. Hit and Runs are very common, often they never find the perp...but they do usually find the victim. IMO.

I think "no foul play" means what you think it means what you think it means. It’s just that lots of the theories of overdoses, or drunken accident were also coupled with someone or someones with her and they A do not report it and they B dump/hide the body. I'm not a lawyer so can't say for sure but I think these things are crimes even if they’re not crimes if I was a Police department public information officer I don't know if I would refer to this as no foul play.

I guess it is also possible she went and died somewhere from being lost or drunk accident. I was sort of thinking if this was the case she would have been found by now because there is only a finite area she could have been in. But I guess as I think about it more it is not impossible. BUT I don't know how they would suspect this was the cases I'd think there would be no way of knowing one of these was the case until a body was found.

Just my thoughts.

Just in my opinion I would consider this still "foul play", but i guess there is no pat definition of it so maybe they would not. As far as a theory i think this is certainly one reasonable explanation although i would agree about finding the victim

Why is there a sudden change in LE thinking foul play? First they were investigating it as criminal..
Even if an overdose occured and friends ditched the body, that would still bring criminal charges. So wouldn't that fall under foul play?
Unless Morgan had a mental break and took off, i don't see any reason why this wouldn't be considered foul play..

We are not sure that they are not looking at foul play. A reporter said that at this time foul play was not considered, but we think she was mistaken.

Is there anyone who can identify the reporter -- and the media company she works for -- who made this remark about "foul play" not being considered? Foul play HAS to be considered and I agree that the reporter misspoke since she probably should have said there is NO EVIDENCE of foul play.

If so, and if we can contact her through her employer, then maybe we can (hopefully) move on from this distraction and get to more important issues/questions.

Can anyone here identify the reporter? TIA

Bold mine.

Hi all. I saw this on HLN yesterday...it was Michele Sigona...the one who used to be shown as being with "America's Most Wanted". I don't know if she is still with them.

Not everyone is trained or even cares to do a security job properly. Mostly guys that want to be in bands but are NOT rockstars hoping to either see free shows and pick up the chicks at shows. But, not everyone in security is like that.

Thank you for the clarification =)
Last i heard, LE was looking at it like it's a criminal investigation (not sure on my wording "Criminal", ya'll know what i mean)

I'm re-thinking my theory that she planned to meet someone and things went hinky ...

The NEW fact that they have multiple sightings of her trying to re-enter the arena leads me to believe that she may have left the arena because she was upset that she had fallen and perhaps the injury and even melted eye makeup embarassed her to the point she didn't want to return to her party ... perhaps she left the arena to "cool down" - she may not have even understood the warning about re-entry if she was upset ... Have you ever felt like you were just having the MOST miserable night, everything was going wrong at a concert that you were REALLY looking forward to ....

After she had cooled down some, tried to re-enter and been turned away ... then her friends called and she again told them that she had things under control ... she would find a ride "home", [find a ticket] or meet at the car after the concert.

Box office was closed but I'm betting that there were still scalpers around, perhaps they were drifting back up towards Lanigan parking area, she decided to buy a scalper's ticket and needed cash from an ATM to complete the transaction ...

She crossed the bridge to the nearest ATM, got some cash (LE is not giving out info on bank transactions), came back across the bridge (LE says she was seen headed both ways) ... returned to Lanigan to the scalper where she was grabbed, put into a vehicle and her purse and phone were dropped ...

From JPJ she could have been taken anywhere. Ivy Rd intersects with 29S (Lynchburg/Danville/NC) and 64E/W (Richmond/Roanoke/Harrisonburg) about 1-2 miles away. Emmet St is 29N towards Madison/Culpeper.

Charlottesville is surrounded by many large farms and forests. The major and secondary roads have heavy brush and ditches along them. The median strips are wooded. This is not an urban area except along 29N ...

I wonder if LE has other cases of young women being abducted from concerts ... was this just a crime of opportunity ... or is there a predator who goes after young vulnerable women ...

I think that's the first I've heard that she was seen going both ways on the bridge. That sheds a different light on things, since I was under the impression that she was seen on both sides of the bridge, but not necessarily heading back and forth. I think Hoosll's theory is quite plausible.

I think there is a possibility she was going to the ATM - however, most of the venues I have been to (like arenas and civic centers) have an ATM on site.

Apparently the box office was still open per an earlier post of a woman stating her daughter had been working the box office and was not questioned by LE. Now whether or not the box office was still selling tickets for the Metallica concert at that time remains unknown.

I believe this was a crime of opportunity, IMO.

As I stated in an earlier post - she probably made it to an ATM (no comment from banking people when question by a "Hook" reporter) and was robbed for her money....
