Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it has been pretty clearly established and publicized by LE (so that's what I'm choosing to believe) that it was in fact MH's car. An earlier poster stated that it was in the "normal" lot, which I read to be the one directly adjacent to JPJ (though whether on the lot or in the multi-story parking structure I don't know).

I don't know if DH still believes otherwise, but it wouldn't surprise me if he has changed his own mind about that, and that (in LE's/DH's mind) unimportant detail just hasn't been shared. The car doesn't seem to be LE's focus (maybe it should be, but they express that it's not), nor how she got out of the arena, but what happened after she was outside and after 9:30.

I'm in total agreeance with you. I believe based on LE media statements that it was MH's car at the arena and that dad may have been told differently by her friends. Because of insurance purposes I made my kids swear to me they wouldn't ever let anyone drive their vehicles, because I was liable. I also told them if they weren't able to drive (for whatever reason) they should call me for a ride, no questions asked. However, if they followed my rules all the time, I'll never know. I still think MH's friends gave the truth of the matter to LE after they told her dad a little fib to protect their friend. MH probably gave her keys to the DD because she wanted to imbibe never imagining her dad would find out.

Her mother stated in one of the first interviews how extremely close MH and her dad are. I can totally see MH bending his rules and yet not ever wanting to disappoint him. Heck, I used to bend my mother's rules on occassion and I had the utmost respect for her. As an adult, she has told me (when I've tried to confess a few of my younger years transgression) that there are just some things a parent doesn't want to hear from her adult children after the fact! LOL

Although like so much in this case the wording I heard was vague, that is to say it could be interpreted more than one way; I thought that they specifically said there was no PHONE calls after the 8:48 deal with the friends. I'm just trying to use my memory so I'm not sure. Many media reports I have seen in the last week seem (at least in my interpretation) to suggest that some of the texting done with the "unknown young man" was after the last call, but before 9:30.

This is just what I remember hearing or reading so take it for what is worth.

See post #560 for further conformation

I just listened again. The exact quotes from the press conference included "her friends actually called her, and she received the call at 8:48 Saturday night" and later in response to the question "was that the last phone made on that phone?" the reply was "yes, that was the last phone call conversation anyone had with her", and finally "she did not make any other phone calls on her phone."

No specific questions nor answers about texting.

One thing I'm wondering is when the purse was found. I know it has been reported as Sunday morning. BUT I was thinking, If I go out on Saturday night and something happened to me (not like something bad just and kind of occurrence that I might mention later) at 1:30am and I was telling someone about it the next day or a few days later I would still refer to it as "Saturday night" although it would have technically been Sunday morning. When I have heard the purse was found Sunday morning I have always assumed they meant like somewhere between 6:00am to 11:00am Sunday morning. But if you read like the local police blotter in your paper or what not LE seems to not be so lose with their definitions and something that happened at 2:00am they would defiantly refer to as Sunday morning. So I’m wondering if the purse was turned in maybe only a few hours after the concert or was it the 8+ I had been assuming?

This is sort of related to something I've been wondering since I first heard about this case which is: was the purse dropped where it was found by MH as most of us are assuming (this is probably the most likely thing) or is it possible that it was dropped there at some later point by the perp. This could be done to in hopes of throwing off the authorities. If she had been with someone she knew at least a little and either they did something or maybe something went wrong (OD or something of that nature) I could see them dropping the purse back off in hopes of making it look more like a stranger abduction.

another variation of this could be she is picked up by someone she knew this person is not going to give her a ride home but they are just going to kick it somewhere and then try to meet up with her friends after the show, they start doing something extreme (maybe something MH doesn't have experience/tolerance with shooting dope etc.)Things go wrong and MH ODs this person panics realizes phones can be track removes her battery, dumps her body somewhere, drops purse off near the show in hopes ppl will consider it a stranger abduction.

Or maybe the same as above but replace the drugs with an unwanted advance which is rejected and this is met with a violent rage.

These are just two random possibilities I’m just brainstorming.

As far as the ID, the only thing I remember reading is in the first few days of this Morgan was reported as being missing and that she had no ID and no money CC etc. [edit for clarity: this leading me to assume these items were still in her purse when it was recovered](this is just from memory). I don't really remember anything else official being released about the contents of her purse or the whereabouts of her personal effects (totally possible I just missed it). It has been reported multiple times that the purse showed no signs of a struggle, who the hell knows exactly what this means, but I took it to mean the contents was not strewn about the area.

Her friend drove MH's car from JMU to JPJ and kept the keys...others have speculated that she was the designated driver for the group.

been thinking about this. If this person was the Designated Driver and MH called her to say she was locked out of arena and wanting her keys.... but she was plastered .... would the DD have just went and handed them over to her?

If she did it would be irresponsible as MH could take off driving and get arrested or killed in a car crash....

If she didn't she left her friend stranded alone out in the cold plastered....

that would have been a no win situation

the only right decision would have been to all leave the arena and go home.

"Harrington is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black Pantera T-shirt, a black miniskirt, black tights and black boots when last seen."

snipped from an aricle at this link:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/04/missing.metallica.virginia.tech/index.html

There is a Nancy Grace video posted on the same page which shows video of Morgan inside the arena. Here is the problem. Her outfit as described included black tights...but the young lady in the video is NOT wearing black tights...her legs are obviously bare. It is about 1:56 mark where I clearly see her legs. A small detail, but the devil is in the details, right?

I had to look, look and relook but was able to definitely see what you are seeing is right. That girl does not have on tights. Sure do wish it had been her though.

Le Singe - you know I really hate to agree with to you... :) but I have also wondered if it is possile that the purse was planted, moved, etc. I recall reading that the purse wasn't turned into UVA LE until around noon on Sunday but I'm on my phone and can't find the link right now.

This makes me wonder if her friends submitted to LDT's and maybe her father is just in denial ala, "My daughter always does what she tells me she is doing!" MH's father wouldn't have any reason to lie when he desperately wants his daughter back. However, MH's friends probably spilled their guts to LE because they are young and scared.

I've been dropping in a few times daily to check on status. I've read that MH had the tickets or something about the concert on her refrigerator and that she was very excited about going. Does anyone recall if the statement was about her refrigerator or her parent's refrigerator? I'm wondering if her father was even aware that she was going to a Metalica concert. Her mother knew and helped her decide on a outfit to wear. Somehow her father doesn't seem to really know what was going on with her. Fathers are kept in the dark sometimes on purpose. Did mother and daughter decide that Dad did not need to know that she was going to the concert? Wouldn't this explain why she did not call to say that she had made it safely on the second leg of the trip? Is Dad just now finding out things that daughter and mother kept secret?

Saw where someone posted that a billboard for MH was on I-64.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I saw one in Roanoke here this evening - going West on Elm just before the ramp onto I-581 right there at Bud's Suds carwash.

Also my daughter told me that just about every business in downtown Roanoke has up a missing flyer for MH!

Praying for Morgan and for all of those searching for her!

Find Morgan Web site has a new look.

http://findmorgan.com/

I haven't heard it mentioned or talked about but I went to the above site just to look around a bit. There were several pictures of Morgan. Some recent and some older ones. I noticed the most recent ones show her being very thin. I was looking at her arms and thinking hummm.

I am wondering if her weight loss had anything to do with her disappearance.

From everything I've read, Morgan's dad had bought the tickets to the concert for her and her friends. So he knew for sure she was going to it.

What I recall reading or hearing is that her dad actually bought the tickets and they were on the refrigerator at her parents' house, but I couldn't tell you where I read or heard that. I suspect it was more about not driving so much or not letting someone else drive her car that is the likely culprit in the initial/complete truth. MOO.

Sorry, I see Montana just posted essentially this...sigh.

From what I have read Morgan and her father were very close. The Metallica tickets were on her parents refrigerator for six months and I believe her father bought them for the whole group. They may have paid him back I don't know about that.

I went to a lot of concerts when I was young and for the life of me I cannot think of one reason I would have went outside before the band I wanted to see even took the stage.

There are plenty of people willing to sell whatever you want inside. People smoke inside even in places they aren't supposed to.

The only reason I would have ever went outside and left the arena without my friends would be if I was thrown out, if I felt unsafe inside, or I was so drunk or messed up that I didn't know what the heck I was doing.

This is so true, and i am of the same opinion. Metallica was headlining the show and she left before they even came on?? Maybe her intention of going at all was to secretly meet up with someone she met off the internet..
Either that she was under the influence of something. I couldn't imagine leaving when you know you can't get back in. Then i'm thinking maybe she went to look for an atm to get money for another ticket to get back in after she went outside?
Huge venues have had these rules for over a decade, once you leave you can't go back inside without buying another ticket.
I would smoke cigs inside anyway, so did my friends. I'm beginning to think she went outside to meet up with someone or was so intoxicated she didn't realize..

exactly - which brings up the questions:

1. Why didn't she drive her vehicle to JPJ? >drinking or under influence of drugs?
2. Why would anyone leave their vehicle with friends so far from home? If you have no way home and your car is right there, would you take off to find a way home? >Makes zero sense
3) Why does her father insist her car & KEYS were left at JMU? >doesn't believe police? doesn't believe friends? doesn't believe Morgan would've allowed someone else to drive her car?

It sounds like she may have told her parents that they weren't taking their car as her folks wouldn't have approved of it for whatever reasons.
If her friends and police say it's true it was her car, i'd go with what they say.

The weird thing is her friends would accept without question that they can just drive her car home and not even question whether or not Morgan is okay, at least have her call them when she got to a "safe" destination. There seems to be lack or caring here. At a huge concert, her being one girl and a pretty one, you'd think the friends would have looked out for eachother better. IMO, i would never leave a vehicle with friends, however back in my college days i had friends who would let their friends borrow their cars at the drop of a hat. The cars were usually beaters lol.
I guess it depends on the individual..
If Morgan was nice enough to let them take her car, they should have at least made sure she was okay.

How big a Metallica fan was she? Does anyone know if she had posters hanging in her room, etc? To keep the tickets on the fridge for 6months would be either so they didn't get lost and also if she was a good fan of them.
It's weird she went outside before they came onstage.
I really think she may have been meeting up with someone
