Respectfully snipped...

It is being reported on other sites that the last people she spoke with at 9:10 were UVA basketball players. And a bit OT - but the UVA basketball team is having some problems with a couple of players. :waitasec:

It seems like she was on the bridge, but hadn't made it to the end of the bridge to determine if she was turning towards 7-11 or away from it.

What kind of problems? I always thought LE should look into everyone that parked there.

Thank you for the explanation but of course now I have another question never having been there or anywhere like that.

Why do they give the RV parking lot to the players. Is it so they can attend classes or the concert or why are they parking at all. Is this a special priviledge they are given?

Please...gimme more

The athletic facilities are all in that general area. John Paul Jones arena is also the basketball arena. The old basketball arena is still standing and is used for offices for other 'minor' sports. The football team has practice fields nearby. Right next to the RV lot is the track, baseball field and soccer/lacrosse field.

Most likely there are no athletic events going on at the same time as a major concert like this, but athletes may still have practices/workouts/etc. If their normal parking area is taken up for concert parking, they reserve the "RV lot" for them to park at.

Virginia’s Tucker takes indefinite leave

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP)—Virginia men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett says senior forward Jamil Tucker is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team.

Bennett said in a news release Wednesday that Tucker needs time off to deal with some issues. The first-year Cavaliers coach declined to provide more specifics during a conference call.

Virginia also will be without 7-foot center Assane Sene when it opens the season Friday night against Longwood. Sene is suspended for three games for conduct detrimental to the team.

I understand your frustration and agree that it is terrible that women are ever subjected to this. But sexually motivated violence towards woman predates the US and will still be going on in the future after the US has faded into history. It happens everywhere and in a lot of countries you would think of as places that are "tuff on criminals" or "safe" are so patriarchal that these type of things are not treated nearly so serious and often a blind eye is turned towards them. Our freedoms in this country mean that we actually talk about this stuff and are willing to address it where as many places it is simply swept under the rug (in times past even in this country this has been the case). Women in the US have as much or more respect and freedom than they have anywhere in the world and they have much more than they ever have had in the history of the human species. These horrible crimes are perpetrated by a small minority of psychopathic sexually deviant individuals and it is entirely their fault it has nothing to do with the US or our way of life. Bottom line focus your anger on the small percentage of individuals who are solely responsible for this sort of crime and not society as a whole.

My opinion..............

Iam not angry at this country. Maybe it sounded that way. I was just saying that every 60 seconds a child goes missing in the US. I think that is serious and there need to be laws that are stronger against this happening.

If anybody is interested in how criminals should be treated...tune in. I don't see any stars or x's so I think I am ok with the site.

When we start treating convicted men like criminals then women and children will walk the streets again because felons will think twice before going to Joe's March.

Darn this one really gave me an itch and I just had to scratch it...moving on...sorry.

I lived in az, maricopa. There you do a crime you do the time. You get a DUI, no ifs ands or buts, no $$$ can help you, you are required to spend at a minimum 1 night in tent city.

I also think we have past the point where its a small minority of these perverts. We've got these pervs having sex with months old babies. We as a society have gotten to the point that we look at these crimes as normal, something we have to accept happens. That is wrong. I say lets start taking away criminals rights. Lets take away citizenship. They are given a gift by being born here, if they cant follow the rules, and they are taking away our rights then lets do the same to them. Why should we offer them any social security, medicaid, medicare, foodstamps....

also in reference to a few post up. I read a comment somewhere from a girl who was at the concert and she said Metallica went on at 9:00 sharp. She said you could here the music outside so you would know they had started.

One player has taken off the rest of the season for "personal problems" - no further explanation given, yet.

Another player has been suspended for "conduct unbecoming to his team". Again - no further explanation.

Just kinda odd that this is all happening. I am sure it is completely unrelated though.

Or maybe not?

Does anyone know if you need a magnetic key to enter the RV lot? If so, then it would have the times and people who enter and exit the lot.

There's no special key or gate to enter.

The changes I would love to see made are to cut the crap in prisons and jail. Heck those places with their "rights violations" have turned into a Betty Ford Center. What homeless druggie or child molester wouldn't want to go to a spotless jail with three squares and tv and all the dreams 24/7. The sick ones are using them as a hospital and the old ones as a nursing homes. Heck they don't want to go back to "where they came from". Have you seen some of the places prisoners have lived in the news stories. They come from filth and squalar. Prison is like the Hilton.

Sheriff Joe down in Alabama is my hero. He works their butts off on county projects all day and then he gives them a bologna sandwich. Good enough for anybody that has committed a crime against society.

Toyko jail is another place nobody wants to go. Toyko is known for their cleanileness but the jail is a nightmare.

Ok enough on that or they will move me along...I just had to answer the problem of abductors and molestors. They are moving on up when they get prison time.

sheriff joe is in maricopa county, ARIZONA ;)

Another thing on Dr.Phil, her mom said she stopped smoking six months ago.

Another thing on Dr.Phil, her mom said she stopped smoking six months ago.

It could be true or not. MAybe they wanted her to quit and she said she did but didn't. I guess her friends are the only ones that would really know.

These friends surely do have all the info don't they. They have a smirky look when interviewed..well the one that was. One has an LE daddy and they have the Morgans undieing love. And they have returned to classes.
Who could ask for anything more.

I wonder why they ever let the one speak in the first place. ???

I'm watching Morgans story on Dr. Phil now.

I truly hope she comes home soon.

I find it kind of strange that her brother Alex has done nothing..notable.. in the search for Morgan. Alex has not even changed his My Space page to her missing poster like most of her friends and tons of people on Facebook have done.
In Gils statement she says "Alex is the only one of us who has had many moments of genuine grief, afraid if we go there we will drown and not be able to do this job."
This is in the Find Morgan, Family Blog.
I wrote about her brother previously. He is a hair dresser and lives in New York. http://www.papermag.com/blogs/2008/09/cornered_style_alex_jordan_har.php

I would think that most big brothers would "man up" during something like this. His parents need him and his sister needs him. There would be a time for breaking down and tears later..when all is known.

I wonder if they have checked his apartment in New York. I am pretty sure Morgan would have a key to that apartment since somebody somewhere in my looking around said Morgan used to fly food out to him in New York because the prices of food in NY are so high. I thought that strange but everybody jumped me and said..its the sisterly thing to do. Ok I will accept that. I thought you could buy a whole ton of groceries for the flight price.
Has anybody heard what Alex is doing to "find Morgan"? Sorry I just can't let this go.
Also on that link that I posted above when asked why did you leave Alex states " I had to get out of there" Did he mean the state or did he mean home?

There has been no evidence whatsoever that Morgan's brother is involved, nothing. I'm sure he loved his little sister and is just as confused and grief stricken as the rest of her family. Unfounded speculation about involvement of her brother, with no evidence whatsoever to back it up, is only making a victim of sorts out of him as well. And IIRC as many seemed to agree, none of us ever know how we would react if a family member we loved were to disappear. I certainly don't know if I'd be able to "man up" about it, especially so soon.

http://www.readthehook.com/blog/index.php/2009/11/11/school-rule-1000-feet-add-felony-drug-charge/

Here is a link from readthehook.com. Drug dealers busted for pushing drugs too close to UVA campus and near a custard stand.

IMO, dealers are sick and twisted people and may be tied to other crime. I PRAY that LE has taken a look at these people.

I think to say that all dealers are "sick and twisted" individuals is a bit of a generalization. Alot of them are normal people looking to make some money off what is a multi-billion dollar industry in this country. The worst I think we can say is as a generalization is that many perhaps are lazy, in not wanting to work a real job. But sick and twisted seems a bit extreme IMO.:waitasec:

Not to offend anyone but could we focus on Morgan?

This really isn't meant towards anyone one poster specifically, but checking in at the end of the day it seems there are multiple posts that are off topic opinions that don't move the search for Morgan forward.

I don't know about all of that. Yes I am pretty sure he is gay but I live in a pretty conservative area, the midwest, and I find gay people in my workplace and also neighborhood quite accepted. Because they make themselves acceptable. Granted if they started parading around in the gear he has on in the picture eyebrows would lift a bit and then they would go down again.

I am sure Alex is in touch with his sexuality and not afraid to show his grief because somebody had him curled up in Morgans bed trying to get to her smell..or some such nonsense.

I find the "family pictures" I see with him looking fine. I think he must have respected his parents.

My point is this is not his time to break down. The world needs him now..this is his moment to shine..this could take him to the next level. This could make Alex special.

I wonder if anybody ever had a "tough love" talk with Alex.

Sorry I am way off topic of finding Morgan. I was a real tough love mom. They are all gone now and I am so very proud of them. I just want Alex to be all that he can be. I guess that will not be up to me. I rest my case.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but what exactly do you have against Morgan's brother? I've just noticed alot of your posts about him contain a biting, sarcastic tone, and I don't think he's done anything to deserve it. He's a victim of this crime just as much as Mr and Mrs Harrington are.

Another thing on Dr.Phil, her mom said she stopped smoking six months ago.

I didn't see the Dr. Phil interview, but it is interesting to me that Morgan's mother said she stopped smoking 6 months ago.
Did EVERYTHING happen six months ago? She quit smoking; the Metalica tickets were bought; their relationship with Morgan has been great. I can't help wondering what was going on in this family prior to six months ago? I realize this doesn't directly discuss the case, but Morgan's state of mind is important in determining her moves. Past behavior is the best predicter of future behavior.
So....the two times that interest me most are 1) before six months ago and 2) before she transferred for her senior year in HS.
BTW, as I stated early on, the parent/child relationship is just not normal IMO. I wonder how much Morgan was hiding from her parents; how much the "friends" are hiding about the concert and after.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get O/T by defending drug dealers. I guess what I was trying to say is that I don't see the connection with drug dealers arrested near campus = predator who abducted Morgan.
