Aren't the photos of the dogs evidence though? I was listening to a couple of commentators last night saying that just wait until the jury sees them, that Vick will be convicted ~ so I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I was just assuming they'd be allowed like crime scene photos are for a murder trial.
Yes, they are evidence but not all evidence is admitted in court. Judges have various reasons for allowing or disallowing evidence. A case here in Tennessee about eight years ago went all the way to the Tennessee Supreme Court, a puppy mill owner was found guilty on several hundred animal abuse charges, and a Federal charge of tampering with evidence. She was even sentenced to time in the pen. Lo and behold, on appeal, a judge decided all the evidence against her had been gathered illegally and the charges were dropped. Talk about making your blood boil. These judges can rule evidence admissible or inadmissible for many reasons.
Hopefully, Virginia will do better than Tennessee.
