Michael Vick was indicted for beating or killing or causing dogs to fight other dogs and engaging in or promoting dogfighting. Somehow, the Grand Jury passed on inditing him on eight counts of animal cruelty.

I just don't understand their thinking.

I read and re-read that article. I understand that Federal charges were filed against Vick and others but did the State charge him also with the same charges as the Feds or did the state did not indict him on any animal cruelty charges but did indict on dog fighting, etc.?

Unfortunately, I think I do understand their thinking. :furious:

:woohoo: I hope he gets all he deserves. I am watching this on Nancy Grace right now and these poor dogs, one had his nose completely bitten off. They have an expert on there showing how the dogs are not beasts they don't want to fight it is what these monsters make them they are loving dogs that are turned to do bad things by thier sick owners.

I am so bummmed that Whoopie not only defended Vickthedogkiller but also made excuses for him because he was brought up in the deep south. WTF? THAT is a huge misstatement. I live in the same city, not the same area but the same city that Vic was raised in. I live in the state of VA in the deep south as Whoopie called it and I am appalled and ashamed that she made such a comment. WE southerners LOVE our pets. We do NOT have weekly dog fighting contest. Guess Whoopie doesn't know that PETA's headquarters is in VA. BEACH! grrrrrr

Actually they (PETA) are in Norfolk, and I do not consider this the deep south if any thing Vick is from the near inner city. Now Sufolk is country, and may be considered more deep south good ole boy ish

Glad to hear this! We live on the Virginia-Tennessee-North Carolina border. At least Virginia does the right thing. Our Tennessee House Rep for our district was one of only a very few who would not vote for strengthening the Federal laws involving interstate trafficking in fighting dogs.

Hats of to Virginia. Hopefully, our Rep, David Davis, won't get re-elected since he has failed to take a stand against this huge interstate business.

we only tough on the interstate trafficking of dogs so we can be lax on gun trafficking but tough on crime.

Canadian bank demands $2 million in lawsuit against Michael Vick

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) -- Royal Bank of Canada has sued suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for more than $2.3 million. The bank argued that his guilty plea to federal dogfighting charges and the resulting impact on his career have prevented him from repaying a loan.

Vick borrowed $2.5 million in January with plans to use the money for real estate investments, Royal Bank of Canada said in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Newport News on Thursday. The loan's terms specify that any employment change negatively impacting Vick's income constitutes a default on the loan, according to the lawsuit. Last month, Vick pleaded guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting ring at a property he owned in Surry County, near his hometown of Newport News.

Vick faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced in December, has been indefinitely suspended without pay and has lost all his major sponsors, including Nike. On Tuesday, he was indicted on state charges related to dogfighting.

"The criminal charges, and resulting impact on the Defendant's employment ... materially affect his ability to repay the Term Note," the bank said in the lawsuit. The bank is demanding $2,313,694.37, plus $499 in interest per day, starting Sept. 19, as well as attorney's fees. Vick's attorneys did not immediately return phone messages Tuesday.

Why would he NEED to borrow $2.3 million???!?!?!?! :waitasec: I am betting that he has blown all of his money...

Vick has been caught with mary jane in his system AFTER his plea deal but before his sentencing.....the sentencing where the judge is going to determine years of his life. Me, I would be a choir boy for those months. Come on Dec 10th, let's go for 5 years!

The probation officer requested house detention from 10PM to 6 AM each day with electronic monitoring for the 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Must also take substance abuse and mental health counseling. :D :D :D Perhaps someone should take a cursory effort to see that Vick understands the rules of society!?! Maybe he just doesn't know what is legal and what isn't.

Unbelievable....what an absolute dumba$$.

Dang Cal! You beat me to it! My, my how the "Mighty" have fallen. I wonder if he hooked up with Ricky Williams.

On another note they brought up the race angle on the news again last night saying that he's getting so much publicity because he's African American. That really burns me up. He's getting publicity because he's FAMOUS! GRRRRR

I wonder if the NFL can also hold him accountable for violating the leagues drug policy since they already suspended him indefinitely?

Leniency based on the threat of a race riot over unequal treatment is the only way he will be saved. You gotta understand that the thugs that buy season passes (NFL anyway) and the merchandise etc are predominantly black. They are hoping that by appealing to the "I am a victim" mentality of a portion of those black people, they can save Vick.

I wonder what that idiot Tony Korheiser will have to say today after triumphantly and almost breathlessly exclaiming "Vick started his comeback to the NFL" on the day Vick pled.

As Ron White, the Comedian said.....you can't fix stupid.

I'd say that Kornheiser pretty much deserves his own thread too. LOL
How'd he get a commentator job anyway? What a snoozer! ZZZzzzzzz
I think he actually forgets where he is sometimes.

Also the Royal Bank of Canada is suing Vick for 2.5 million. They issued him a line of credit for "investment" purposes as in buying and selling property. The line of credit is not to be used for "incidental or personal expenses. Since he has no income, they want their money back plus interest of 500 per day.

He has lost almost 10 million in endorsement deals also.

I love Karma..........

How much dumber does he seem now that he makes that kind of money and STILL has to go out and borrow 2.5 million?

Class act, solid gold ahole!

Vick Tests Positive for Marijuana, Faces Restrictions

Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana and will face additional restrictions on his freedom as he awaits sentencing on a federal charge related to dogfighting. A urine sample submitted by Vick tested positive on Sept. 13, prompting the probation officer for the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback to seek new conditions of his release, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Richmond, Virginia.

Vick pleaded guilty last month to federal charges of bankrolling a dogfighting operation at a home he owned in Virginia. He was indicted yesterday by a Virginia grand jury on state dogfighting charges.

As a result of the positive drug test, probation officer Patricia Locket-Ross asked for Vick to be barred from using or possessing narcotics or other controlled substances. He must also submit to any method of testing at random and continue a substance-therapy program. Vick also will be restricted to his home from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time and must submit to electronic monitoring.

In January 2007, police investigated Vick after finding what were initially described as signs of marijuana in a water bottle he carried at an airport security checkpoint in Miami. Subsequent tests failed to turn up traces of drugs, police said, and no charges were filed.

And something like this surpises who?????????

His endorsements are over a long period of time. This man abused animals for fun and sport and when caught and convicted, his whole life went down the tubes.

The Royal Bank of Canada can't see how he can pay the money back, because of his lack of income, so now they want all of it back and pronto.

I love Karma because this man abused dogs for sport and now his whole world is destroyed, sort of how he destroyed the countless lives of dogs. Plus, the whole world now knows that he is not the stand up guy who plays a mean game of football, but just another weird and warped "wanabee" human who abuses animals.

Extremely fitting, don't you think............

I do.....just think though of the magnitude of the loss and that makes it much sweeter for me. :D He didn't just lose a job, he lost a 100 million plus dollar job. Soon, he will go from his personal of the big dog to his new prison persona of the big 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, those guys in prison will make the linebackers look like choir boys.

Please show me the source for your "predominantly black" thugs who purchase season passes and merchandise.

Thanks.

Okay, here are all the links you want:

I can't find the link or maybe it was on the local news, but they indicated that a majority of the season ticket holders were black....when addressing the whole race divide, etc.

Re the townhall meeting in Atlanta where the vick apologists showed up and booed people who say Vick even performed a crime:
