No idea if that mask guy is him or not, but if you notice the circle and the slash and discolored name, that means he left the group. It would probably be a good idea if he killed her to leave the group that he met her on. Of course if that was the case, it probably would've been wise to delete all his posts too.

As for Engineering, you obviously have to have some intelligence. I was only top 1/3 of my class and got into an engineering program from a pretty strong technical school and have an engineering degree too. Not that any of that actually matters anyway.

When I thought about a fairly smart, seemingly successful kid, it reminded me of the case I saw about the high ranking Canadian Air Force? official. He was leading a double life, of leader by day and fetishes and eventually killing at night.

I'm wondering if this the first incident for this guy. Any missing teens in his area of Maryland when he was living there?

I agree, it takes longer than that for death from organ rejection.

Plus she could have been murdered within just a few hours of her disappearance.

Devastated and numb after hearing the news this morning. I have two nieces, 10 and 12, who live just a couple miles from where Nicole was found. I drive that stretch of road about once a month. I was praying desperately for a better outcome.

Rest in peace, sweetie :(

ETA In cases like this, it just doesn't really matter to me what she was doing ' online'. She did not deserve to die and I'm so glad they got their perp so quickly.

ETAA What have we done by creating this world wide web where our babies fall victim every single day and no one can seem to stop it ?

While I will agree 100% that she didn't deserve what happened to her, I must strongly disagree that it doesn't matter what she was doing online. She willingly put herself in a dangerous situation, interacting with complete strangers. From LE to school teachers to parents, teens are warned over and over and over NOT to do this.

That would be Russell Williams. I just started watching his interrogation last night. It's insane.

He met her before they interacted on that FB group as evidenced by their Kik conversation from November that she screenshotted on her IG.

I am just trying to think of a reason a 19 year old college freshman would kill a 13-year-old girl. I'm coming up with nothing other than the scenario described above where he realized what he had done and then freaked out. Other than that I'm coming up with nothing. This case is so strange and I hope they are able to find out how this little girl died.

Because he is a psychopath? Most of these guys start much earlier than we used to think. Think about how young some killers are when arrested these days. There was not the mind-set to look at teenage boys back when Bundy and others were getting started. That is how he got away with it for so long.

The only "masked" profile I saw interacting on that dating page was some wacko Serbian dude (who is no longer able to see posts on that page). I honestly see nothing in his profile to suggest this is the person currently a guest of Washington County, facing 1st degree murder charges. Unless I'm looking at the wrong profile?

Same here. I don't think the masked guy "JM" has anything to do with this case. Yes he's a creep but I don't think he is the guy who was arrested.

We can blame facebook and all these other sites and demand they be taken down, but teens (and those looking for teens) will find other places to go. Just a fact. They'll always try to be one step ahead of us.

What is maddening to me about this is that Nicole wasn't exactly hiding this behavior from her parents. On one of her facebook accounts (where I believe she listed she was a graduate of VT and worked there), she posts pics of her topless boyfriend (posing very provocatively by the way), her mom asks her who that is, and she says that's my bf and he's 15. And then other posts about being single.

Even though we see these types of crimes day in and day out (girls being lured online into danger/death), they continue to have unlimited/unfiltered access to the internet. I can totally see how Nicole would have though David would be a safe bet - he doesn't exactly fit a profile for a bad guy. Looks 100% legit on paper and in life probably. This is a perfect example for us to show to our kids. Trust nobody you meet online. Nobody.

Just an observation. When you have a seriously ill child, you have to be very careful not to go too self-indulgent with them. 'Cause after they are 'better' it can be hard to say no, even when you know it is in their best interest. Some go too far with the you cannot go anywhere without me all the time and some turn into a 'yes' machine. It is a tricky psychological game you play in your head. You still have to be the parent and be willing to let that child be mad at you.

Oh wow I missed that. How does kik even work? Would they have been friends? Wow.

Sleuth this: as provided by a WS member upthread, the FB dating site with one of the victim's last posts -- reveals interaction with a probable DE alias in a face mask. The posts by this alias would surely lead LE to DE as a prime suspect. Read his posts and you will see a sick and twisted mind, deviant behavior, references to and the language of 4chan, the dark web for "non-normies" where the postings from the person who committed the fatal attacks on the school in Washington where discovered by LE.

This poster also makes references to dying and being dead, "normies and non-normies" and even...pedophile tendencies with posts that express his lust for 13+ year old's...and more. IF this is DE, he wasn't just your average teen looking for a sexual relationship. Oh no, this kid was dangerous and it was only a matter of time. IMO.

If you are not familiar with 4Chan, it is an underground 'dark web' for those who consider themselves "not-normies' - and those who have and contempt for those who are 'normies'. Scary world out there in cyberspace.

Very scary stuff indeed, instinct. I wonder if that's DE. Very dark.

Sadly, her social media posts looks like way too many of my 14 year old daughter's friends posts. Disturbing? Absolutely. Uncommon? Not so much. Sometimes even my daughter is shocked. And she is far from isolated and naive, but she'll say things like "How can her Mom be friends with her on FB, see all that and let her posit it?!" I can only answer "I don't know."

I am reading this thread from the beginning and am only at this post, but yes. My daughter is 19 and I am having flashbacks. When she was about 13, seventh grade, some girls on her soccer team would post stuff on FB that made my eyes bleed. Sexually graphic stuff, things about going out at night speeding with older boys who were drinking, on and on. One of the girls straightened up. The other became a mom around 16 and was in and out of juvie and rehab. Anyway, I remember at the time being flabergasted. My dd got a fb and I made her be facebook friends with me and her aunts and uncles, AND i had her password and I would delete offensive things people posted on her wall.

She had friends who would meet boys by the mall for kissing sessions at 14. She had a classmate brag about losing her virginity at 13. When she was 13, facebook was the only sm to worry about. Now there are way too many to monitor. To discipline my dd I tried taking away her phone. She would fight me so I cancelled her service temporarily. She would message with her friends over her laptop. I unplugged the router; she would get online through the neigbors wifi. The point is, you almost have to take EVERYTHING away if you want to discipline your kid, if they are strong-willed. My kid was strong willed but she was an angel compared to some of these peers. I just keep thinking there but for the Grace of God go some of the kids I knew when she was that age.

I wasn't able to see any pictures on ski masks profile but for covered or with makeup can someone direct me to what year or under what heading the pictures would be under? Profile? Timeline? I've searched and don't see any that look like DE.

So sad to read that Nichole was found deceased. Was she found inside a home? I've only read that she was found near the SC border. RIP.

Yep, I can as well. Twisted? Yes. Disgusting? Most certainly. David Eisenhauer? Unlikely.
