UPDATE (Jan. 30, 6:10 p.m., 7:50 p.m.)

Nicole Lovell's father confirmed that she was found dead, according to WDBJ reporter Justin Ward, writing on Facebook [ here ].

Oh nooooooooooooooooo no no no NO! This is utterly heartbreaking andI cannot even fathom how beyond gut-wrenching Nichole's poor parents and family must be feeling. I don't even know what to say except that this is just so unfair and such a cruel, awful world sometimes. And all they did to save her life as an infant, toddler, kid, teenager - her whole life - and then something so unrelated to her physical health like this occurs, ripping her away so abruptly and cruelly. Ugh! I honestly and literally feel sick for them.

Decided to go back and look at where her apartment was. That is very close to the school. I'd imagine there are even some students living there.

Good thought. I, too, was wondering if there are students who rent in the family's building and/or nearby/around their complex ... I can only imagine that there must be. If so, that'd give even further access to Nichole, with or without social media. Ugh. This is so sad. :cries:

Well the station started the live stream at the END of the presser so I didn't get to hear much of anything, except that he didn't confess, and a LOT of "we can't really address that, at this time".

I lean toward it being mostly teenage acne in the mugshot and a photoshopped senior pic (you can tell it was definitely smoothed over and fixed to some degree).

FWIW and slightly O/T, but I had had pretty much "perfect" skin my whole life until about 26-27 years old when I suddenly was hit with "adult acne" and blotchiness, probably due to hormones and stress - or a combo of both. It took me about a year or so to get it under control again. I joked with DH I was a late bloomer, lol, going through latent teenage skin probs now that I was married. :rollseyes: Maybe stress, hormones, change in diet or anything is cause for his "bad skin".

And mugshots are not exactly on par with glamor shots either, lol.

And if i'm wrong and he is a "picker" or doing drugs or something and that's why his skin looks different, then my apologies in advance!

I live in Roanoke, the neighboring town of Blacksburg. Hometown of Morgan Harrington and minutes from Charlottesville and Nelson Co.

I'm tired of this happening to our community.

I lived in Blacksburg for two years when I attended medical school. I lived in an apartment building adjacent to this area for one year. I never felt safe there. I had absolutely no reason to however. But I did move to another area for the next year. It throughly creeps me out that this happened so near. Really hits close to home. I am so sorry for little Nichole.

To tag on to what you said, I'm going throw this thought out there. It's wildly speculative, so take it for what it's worth. Maybe her medication wasn't as imperative as we were led to believe. Perhaps it was a tactic by LE and the family, because they knew someone had her and they wanted her returned. Perhaps if he or they thought she could die any day now, they would give her up so they don't face an ever harsher punishment if she passes while she is with them. But, sadly this didn't happen.

she would need her meds, the doses are very carefully calculated to avoid any kind of organ rejection
missing a dose might not kill her instantly but in the long term it would lead to complications and organ rejection so yes, she needs to take them at the times she was told to
poor little thing, going through all those health issues at an age when all you ant is to be told you are pretty, funny and that someone has a crush on you
wonder if her risky internet behaviour was a way of reacting against her health restrctions, the need to monitor her med intake and be so careful about her own health

Good question - and likely - yes. His. Once he was arrested I'm sure they helped themselves to his phone & records.
